Hey guys. Firstly, my best wishes to each of you and our mods for a happy and safe Christmas. I hardly get the chance to post here these days, but I am always skim reading this forum whenever I can.

Have really enjoyed your comments and mini-reviews each week. Thanks so much for giving your thoughts each week.

What do you think of the Season 2 rankings? Any surprises? CrazyMatt will be happy...

Personally, I thought Tribbles would rate higher. I wasn't aware Immunity Syndrome and Bread and Circuses were as well thought of as they are.

Not much love for Catspaw! I can't believe Omega Glory snuck ahead of it.

I would give a higher rank to "Return to Tomorrow," and lower ranks to "Assignment Earth" and "Friday's Child," but otherwise I can pretty much live with this list.
 
I pretty much agree except "By Any Other Name" would be higher for me and "Fridays Child" and "Trouble with Tribbles" would be lower. Not a bad order though.
 
Thanks again for keeping the thread up, Botany Bay. I have really enjoyed reading the posts. I wouldn't have guessed that "The Apple" would be the stinker of the season; though it's pretty bad, there are a few I like less.

I did a little graphing of the forum ratings. Kind of interesting that two of the most popular were each followed by one of the least. The downward trend is a little steeper by airdate order.

S1 for comparison. According to the forum, S2 had a stronger opener.

Even though S2 had the two highest-rated and S1 the lowest of all, S1 is clearly higher rated overall:

I don't know what use this last one is but I did it anyway. It may be more interesting with S3 combined.

Very interesting J.T.B. As stated here before, Star Trek's pinnacle of quality stretched from "Space Seed" to "Journey To Babel." Your analysis supports that as well.

This is a very good list. Mine would be slightly different. Would like to see the ratings for the first and third seasons.
 
For some reason, "Friday's Child" and "The Omega Glory" are actually both high on my personal list, and ""obsession" probably lower. And I would probably rank "Bread and Circuses" higher than "Adonais" but I'll accept the consensus.

I would love to see a poll for all the episodes for all three seasons. We don't have to rank all 80 episodes, but it would be fun, I think, to have a top 40 for all three seasons. Any chance someone would be willing to set that up? Or has it already been done?

Very late to the game, notwithstanding I'll contribute my 1/2 cent worth. I appreciate the overall sense of strengths and weaknesses. The edits I would offer (and none by large margins):

Raise- By Any Other Name, Patterns of Force, Bread and Circuses, Immunity Syndrome, and Ultimate Computer..
Lower- Friday's Child, Adonais, Obsession, Metamorphosis, and Tribbles.

These responses have been fantastic. The graph work is phenomenal. The love for this show and its quality arc are unmistakable in this forum. While I mostly agree with the graph work and other opinions expressed on favorites episodes, I cannot help being aware of something very key regarding the the weaker 2nd season episodes...as clearly laid out. I love them! Yeah..I love them and consider them fun despite their shortcomings. I'd sooner take weaker, clunky stinker TOS over MUCH if not most of the other stuff on television today. But hey....that's me. ;)
