I got it Monday. I'll say, I was waiting to see if the Australian box would get cheaper before the release date for the UK set. It didn't, so I lost out on a temporary price reduction. So at first I thought it was the slightly lesser of both worlds.
But in practice, I kind of like that it's divided into two books of discs. It provides an easier reference for the looking at the episode guide if I'm not quite sure what episode or special feature I want to watch. By taking out the "pages of discs" I can quickly see anything from that chunk of the series.
The TOS or ENT blu rays are a bit harder in that regard because I have to remove the inside discs to read the guide.
And paying the slightly higher price meant that the sales would be that much better, just in case there's even a fraction of a percent of a chance that the DS9 blu rays ever happen.
My next step is to take a picture of my boxes to post it with the hashtag #ds9onblurayplease.
I don't think so. The prices various outlets pay to CBS for the sets is probably pretty similar.
Oh well. It was still the price I originally planned on paying, so I didn't feel that bad about it.

This is my first post here. I am 50 years young and have been watching Trek continuously for 40+ years so know this as I offer my thoughts on TNG's Season 7, which I just re-watched on Blu-Ray.
My overall review for this season is "Ho-hum how average can a season of Trek be?"
Other then great episodes like "The Pegasus", "Lower Decks", "Journey's End", "Preemptive Strike" and of course the best series final of all time, "All Good Things" this season is actually quite disappointing as a whole.
I have completed re-watches of all Trek many times and I always think this season is better then it is, that is until I watch it again.
"Sub Rosa", "Masks" and "Emergence" are actually almost un-watchable unless you are love Trek (as I do) and you going through a re-watch.
I rate each episode of Trek 1 through 5 and this season is my fourth lowest ranked one in the franchise. The worst ranked in order from worst is TNG Season 1, Season 2 and DS9 - Season 1.

I know its not going to happen, but a "Season 8" of TNG with all TNG-crossover episodes from the other spin offs series on Bluray would be nice. 
Like DS9s pilot, the Q and Lwaxana episodes, "Way of the Warrior"; VOYs Q and Barclay episodes (including the final) and ENTs Borg episode.

I mostly agree. My list of episodes I enjoy watching is slightly longer though.
DS9 season 1 third worst of all Trek?! And just when I thought we could be friends.
All Good Things second half, about 52 mins I think.
"Season 1" Troi in Picard's Ready Room with Picard. Sirtis is clearly out of lip synch for most, if not all of the scene. Stewart is in synch for the whole scene.

Just checked mine, no problems here.
This is actually from season three (Hollow Pursuits), but I found an interesting glitch. I guess they removed the registry on the nacelle only to add it back, but they messed up the settings. This takes place about 36 minutes into the episode.

Just finished watching season 7. I'm a bit underwhelmed by the overall quality of the stories, however, season 7 looks and sounds wonderful in HD 
After watching every single episode of TNG in the original order for the first time, season 4 is the one I enjoyed most. Every season had its ups and downs, but that one had many that were excellent (e.g. The Drumhead, The Wounded, Family) and one could really tell how much better the storytelling had become compared to season 3.
But back to season 7, these are my ratings for the individual episodes:

The technology has changed but the complaint isn't new and predates TNG by a long way. For an earlier fictional example, the 1963 Avengers episode The Wringer has Steed's tailor (actually an undercover spy making bluster in case anyone overhears) complaining that his profession and doctors suffer from the customer having looked up the latest fashion/medical complaints in magazines and thus coming to the professional telling them what's wrong with their clothes/health before the expert can get a word in edgeways.
Only had chance to watch Descent so far, and it looks great but is a rather poor (and almost proto Voyager in how lacking in energy it is. When Lore orders Data to kill Picard Stewart looks like he needs a nap) episode.
And considering Data has by this point had the full rights of a living being for over four years, Lore should really have the same rights as well shouldn't he? Making his death the unlawful execution of an already incapacitated prisoner surely?
I mean, Data shooting Lore when his brother tries to pull the whammy on him, that's more than fair enough as self defence. But the rest of the scene mucking about in Lore's head feel completely against the spirit of TNG and everything Data has been through (certainly as this is the second time Data has turned against everyone because of the influence of a family member it could just as easily be argued he should be shut down for safety as much as Lore), and nobody gives a toss.
I've taken a different tack. Since all seasons of the US issue came with slipcovers, the outer part of Blu-ray inserts are redundant. So I took those out and flipped them over. This puts the Episode Guide/listing on the outside of the Blu-ray case and are much easier to read.
My aging eyes had a tough time reading those episode lists through the blue plastic.

On the episode Preemptive Strike anyone notice a strobing effect on the panning shot of the village following Maress going to Ro following her briefing to Maquis just prior to Cardassian attack on village? Must be way it was sacanned as audi is fine and on commentary
Yes, I noticed that too when I watched the episode. It's also there on the DVD, so it appears to be a problem with the original footage. Fortunately, it goes away as the shot progresses.

I wish I'd thought of doing that. I've thrown away all my cardboard slipcases, but if I'd considered this, then I'd definitely have done that instead. It's a pain trying to read the episode information on the inside of the blue ray cases.Personally I think the whole idea of blue colored cases was flawed. PS3 games came in blu ray cases that are clear plastic. Much better.
