In Broken Link Garak tried to nip the Dominion War in the bud, by incinerating the Great Link (after hearing from the Founder of her intent to exterminate all Cardassians) with the Defiant's quantum torpedoes, and Worf stopped him. If Sisko had not been around, Worf may not have had the opportunity. Of course, in that case Garak might not have been on board, either. Possibilities are open.

Klingons fight Dominion to a standstill with out invading Gamma Quadrant by using wormhole as chokepoint. Wormhole becomes DMZ in ensuing stand-off.

It was a reset episode and you want a episode that used a reset?

To be fair, the reset button can be an okay device if it's used rarely and properly. The reason so many fans dislike it is because too many eps don't handle it correctly. I can think of three eps right off the top of my head that do: TNG's "All Good Things," DS9's "The Visitor" and VOY's "Year of Hell."

I mean, we get introduced to so many other elements that we never hear from again, and the stories written around them sometimes make it seem as if they're entirely inconsequential. It's just as bad as a improper reset button. "Conspiracy" is a good example, because the race that became the Borg were intended to be the parasites from "Conspiracy," but had to be changed to due budgetary reasons. The Borg themselves were originally meant only to be another AOTW.

I always assumed that the Martok changeling became Chancellor and and the Dominion were too busy taking over the Klingon Empire covertly.
