News Season 4 Official Teaser

I wouldn't mind a Sybok return. They set it up in Season 1 and it's something I've hoped they would return to. Also, it would bring back T'Pring, and I like this series' T'Pring.

Ep idea

They stay with another Federation ship for the entire episode due to plot purposes and at the end of it NEITHER ONE OF THEM ARE SHOT UP.

Unorthodox, I know.

Sybok was mentioned in an interview with Henry Alonso Myers, but didn't specify if it's this season or next.

“There’s a future with Sybok where we deal with Sybok, I’m going to say that. You have some future with Sybok to experience on the show.”

They have done that already.

His answer is worded very oddly. In this case I'm gonna assume that a cryptic response means I will probably be unsatisfied by the reality. We'll see.

Me before season three: "I bet I enjoy the puppet episode even though it's probably stupid as hell."
Me after season three: "I bet it's stupid as hell."

I appreciate that they haven't lost their focus on the sort of series they mean this is be and the audience they're seeking to satisfy. The trailer emphasizes adventure, mystery and danger. No "For six decades, Star Trek has offered fans a vision of..." bombast.

One may question the success with which the trailer (and show) deliver on the "Check it out - how cool is this" vibe, but i much prefer it to the "Legacy that inspires" nonsense.

Errm...is this a trailer? Or a vfx reel?

Don't get me wrong - I love this show. And for me, personally, I think this trailer indicates I will get what I want from this show - inventive episodic Trek plots.

But I continue to be baffled by how bad the marketing for this show is. Like last season, when they started the advertisement run with the worst moment of the season - the 4 1/2 Vulcan cringe. This time - it's just colourful cgi pictures that could be AI generated.

Most people watch television because they're invested in the characters. And all we got there is the first few seconds of SOME of the main characters looking at the screen.
It really feels like the marketing department absolutely don't "get" what people like about this show, or the show itself.
What I'm looking forward is the scene of being outside, in a spacesuit, grab-walking along the spaceship hull, while at warp.

I love these types of adventurous scenes, giving us action without resorting to the typical "pew, pew". Same for horse-riding on an alien planet.

The rest (exploding planets, T-Rex,...) really depends on the stories, but could be very exciting as well. In general - I think we're getting what we want from this show (even if the trailer doesn't do that great a job at conveying that).
