Season 3

Season 3 is MUCH better than Season 2. The scripts are much better in ideas and dialogue. Did they get new scriptwriters for Season 3? Did the original scriptwriters get yelled at a lot in between Seasons 2 & 3? Was it just a matter of the series ironing out the wrinkles?

The new Vulcan wandering around is her son.

Jebus only knows how many relatives she gave jobs around the set?

When he's not forcing himself on klingons, he's fine.

Vorik must have been like a kid in a candy store half way through season 7.

I found that season 3 didn't get good until late in the season, whereas in the middle of the season it was mediocre. At that point they were beating long-dead horses.

I think the boost in writing happened in seasons 5-6.

Never cared for Vorik, and that was before I knew of the nepotism factor. The character sort of took plotlines that could have been worked for Tuvok.

8 episodes spread across 4 seasons?

Tim didn't want to reinforce adultery as a valid life path, so the torch was passed. Totally his choice.

Season 3 might be my pick for favorite season, were I forced to do so. Either that or season 5, probably. "Scorpion" gives season 3 an edge, that and the fact that the show had yet to be conquered by you-know-who.

Although I really like Season 3, I find Season 2 and Season 1 better. Season 3 has some really great episodes but a few bum episodes lower the total rating as I see it.

I totally agree. I never really liked Vorik either. He was more creepy than Suder.

Funny to see that the character (and actor) "dissapeared" after Mama was out of the business. Well, the character probably ended up in The Shuttle And Torpedo Building Team! :)

Vorik is a dweeb. It's just Vulcan dweebs are like super dweebs and very hard to relate to so the mind goes to creepy. But he wasn't actually creepy, just young and awkward and isolated.

I must be the only one who liked him! Might be because we saw so few regulars on the show (seriously how were there twins on board and we didn't see them till season 5/6?!).

Agree - Season 3 was fairly mediocre and verging on damned poor until the last quarter or so starting from "Before and After" onwards. There really was a good load of crap in season 3 - "Coda", "Flashback", "False Profits", "The Q and the Grey", "Rise" etc etc. Season 3 was the point where I was getting extremely bored and annoyed with Voyager but it all turned around at the end of the season and when Seven came it was like BAM entertainment (although Kes's departure was a definite bummer)

Disagree - The boost in writing started at the end of season 3 and continued into Voyager's best season - Season 4. Season 4 actually had a stab at continuity and had a ton of good-great episodes.

Season 2 is so bad, if I hadn't been pre-determined to watch the entire season, I probably would have stopped watching about halfway through. Season 3 is much better and season 4-7 make 1-3 look like a different show.
