Robin Curtis played Saavik in a 2016 fan audio drama alongside Nichelle Nichols & Walter Koenig. She was Captain Uhura's first officer and they were the three leads, not just cameos. Also Curtis appeared at events shortly after in full costume and makeup as Saavik, including TrekVegas and the Set Tour.I raised that possibility in this thread:

How do you know Robin Curtis has no interest in the role? I realize she left acting long ago -- she's a now realtor in New York state. Sounds like someone who would gladly accept a large check for little work. It could be a quick subspace transmission cameo. No real acting involved. Surely Admiral Saavik is still alive (she'd only be in her mid 150s at this point), and it seems odd that the character has been tied in to the hero ship as the historic captain of the first Titan flagship.
Kirsty Alley is dead so it's not just unlikely, it's impossible. But it’s impossible to know any of that for sure.
Is it unlikely that Curtis or Alley reprise the role, sure. But you can’t say for certain. Especially if that rumor that…
Brooks returns as Sisko
…is true.

Whoever we see in season 3, RMB said someone he didn't think he'd ever see again in Trek appears. That doesn't really narrow it down though
If there is a computer virus it could be something to do with the Living Construct which was used by the Diviner after he travelled back in time in order to seek revenge against Starfleet for the devastation on Solum in the mid 25th century after the Prometheus unintentionally started a devastating civil war between the Vau N’Akat during this future time period? I had a feeling that the construct weapon was backwards engineered by the Tal’Shiar in the late 2380’s and eventually used to take over the synths and cause Starfleet weapons and defense systems to malfunction leading to the resulting attack on Mars and Utopia Planetia, which in turn led to the destruction of the humanitarian aid fleet being built by Starfleet which was intended to rescue Romulan refugees. The Living Construct may or may not have been the cause of the USS Enterprise E’s destruction, this was either an easter egg or an FX blunder. Either way, this information is likely classified as part of the Temporal Prime Directive.I wonder if there's going to be some kind of computer virus thing being used. The fact that we have 2 returning "villains" at are software based and the fact that the Enterprise-F is getting retired due to some major systems failure keeps bugging me.
Then there are four series of Picard, not three. How many series do you see? What if David Warner filmed a scene as Gul Madred before he died?
I am extremely excited for this season just like I was back when season 1 started. Make it so!
And here's why (at the end)Adding 3 is important here, as will become clear shortly.
