Robin Curtis played Saavik in a 2016 fan audio drama alongside Nichelle Nichols & Walter Koenig. She was Captain Uhura's first officer and they were the three leads, not just cameos. Also Curtis appeared at events shortly after in full costume and makeup as Saavik, including TrekVegas and the Set Tour.
Saavik would be a cool link to Spock, and a character they could have done more with.
Kirsty Alley is dead so it's not just unlikely, it's impossible.
unless as said before, she filmed the cameo last year before she passed.
Some scenes from S3 were filming as early as mid-2021, while S2 was being filmed. Production officially started in Sep '21. She was very alive at that time.
Although I mentioned him earlier I'm starting to think of something a little left of centre, perhaps its
Michael Eddington who although seemed to die on screen, he survived or was captured. Ties in with the Maquis rumours
There was a short-lived binary code thread recently, and I played around with words and what they mean in binary etc, and came up with this:
VADIC is 01010110 01000001 01000100 01001001 01000011, which also means 85 64 68 73 67, the sum of which is 359.
Add 3 to 359, and you get 362. Adding 3 is important here, as will become clear shortly.
362 is the sum of 65 82 68 82 65, which means 01000001 01010010 01000100 01010010 01000001, and that means:

If there is a computer virus it could be something to do with the Living Construct which was used by the Diviner after he travelled back in time in order to seek revenge against Starfleet for the devastation on Solum in the mid 25th century after the Prometheus unintentionally started a devastating civil war between the Vau N’Akat during this future time period? I had a feeling that the construct weapon was backwards engineered by the Tal’Shiar in the late 2380’s and eventually used to take over the synths and cause Starfleet weapons and defense systems to malfunction leading to the resulting attack on Mars and Utopia Planetia, which in turn led to the destruction of the humanitarian aid fleet being built by Starfleet which was intended to rescue Romulan refugees. The Living Construct may or may not have been the cause of the USS Enterprise E’s destruction, this was either an easter egg or an FX blunder. Either way, this information is likely classified as part of the Temporal Prime Directive.
I don’t think think that AI or malfunctioning software is involved this season as part of the main plot, at least I hope not. This new age Sci-Fi trope is becoming old hat. Especially after Discovery’s Control and all that Zhat Vash Admonition nonsense.

New theory since everyone is tying it to Dominion/DS9....perhaps Crusher is really
some sort of synth and the character that dies is Beverley, as she is already dead as we find out as the season continues
