Spoilers Season 3 Episode 7 'Unification III' Promo

Me too.

It's one of the best bits of the whole trilogy.
I wish I had seen it in theaters. I had seen the first two with my dad since he was always a fan and the reason I'm a fan since I grew up watching it with him. It's the only thing we really had in common. He died before it came out and I just wasn't emotionally ready to see it without him. He would've loved that. He would've loved Discovery too, especially season two because he was fascinated by Pike. That was one of his favorite parts of the JJ films, getting to see Pike and getting to know him better.

I actually still can't believe that's the title of the episode, you know. It's a bit too fourth wall breaking. It must refer to a trinary star system called Unification, or a third planet in it. That sort of thing.

How does a title break the fourth wall?

Well, they seem to have made the specific choice to go with "Unification III" and NOT "Unification, Part III".

Titles generally have some kind of meaning within the fiction... whether a description of a plot element happening onscreen or sometimes a place, or occasionally a quotation that's relevant. So is this is the third attempt to unify something or maybe it refers to a third place further on from an initial Unification?

That's because TNG went with Unification II instead of Unification Part 2 for some reason: https://memory-alpha.fandom.com/wiki/Unification_II_(episode) . Nothing more to it than that from what I can tell.

The preview show the Romulans and Vulcans unified and Burnham making a case, so the meaning is clear.
Titles can be literal, poetry, a literary reference, a snip of dialog, a descriptor or pretty much any thing.

The originals weren't 'Part I' or 'Part II' either.

They did the same with Redemption as well. The rest, before and after, were “Part 2”. Strange...
Redemption III

Book: I am more powerful than the Federation; I... I can overthrow it. And together, you and I can rule the galaxy... make things the way we want them to be!

Burnham: Never. I'll never join you! You've failed, Book. I am a Starfleet officer, like my brother before me.

Book: So be it, true believ--

(Burnham shoots first)

Burnham: Saru, you were right. You were right about me. Tell the Admiral... you were right.

The lower 2 spheres were Romulus and Remus in the Romulan logo, the top sphere was always part of the IDIC.
Well it was never said in canon what the central circle represented, they could make it represent Vulcan without it being a retcon.

Katra Ghost Spock: After, Michael. After you. You were commissioned as an officer in 2249, while I was...
Burnham: Shut up, Spock, I don't have for your pedantry, I'm having a moment !!!
