Spoilers Season 3 Episode 5 'Die Trying' promo

Something that I can't keep shaking from my mind. The suit is the slowest-changing fashion of all-time. This I recognize. But, I feel like the tie's days are numbered. I can't see it lasting much passed the time when my generation is in complete power at all levels. To say nothing about 2399... or 3189.

Who actually likes putting on a tie?

On a daily basis, no. Going out on a date or a formal event? It's fun.

I wonder what all the healed Vidiians look like now.

It seems to be a very deliberate aesthetic. It wouldn't surprise me if cronenberg had some input into the look of his character.

How the hell did Cronenberg turn up here? Is he a Trek fan?
There's gotta be a connection here somewhere. I could see him being an OG Trek fan though, Sci-Fi is kinda his wheelhouse and his is a Toronto native...........

Cronenberg has done some acting here and there over the years. Most recently, he had small roles in Canadian thriller Disappearance at Clifton Hill and Viggo Mortensen's directorial debut Falling, and a supporting role in the CBC mini-series Alias Grace. My guess is that he knows someone involved on the production side of things and they invited him to be on the show. It helps that he lives in Toronto.

As for whether he's a Trek fan, he's talked a lot about his childhood love for science fiction pulp magazines and Philip K. Dick in particular ("The Days of Perky Pat" gets a shoutout in his film eXistenZ) but to my knowledge he's never mentioned Trek as an interest or influence.

I don’t even know how to tie a tie. And I’m 47.

Be thankful, four years Catholic High School wearing a tie everyday... Not a hoot nor a holler.
Try six years in an All Boys, Catholic, Military school replete with US Army uniforms of the day.
(no clip-ons allowed)

I swore on graduation day I would never wear a tie again!
(in the last 45 years I've managed to keep that to just two times, both were Funerals)
