We are now well into January, with no release date other than "February 2022". Has there been a specific date announced, or is there an announcement forthcoming?
Stop propagating this rumor as if there was any substance to it. There's no rule that two Trek shows can't be streaming at the same time -- that's something that's been invented on TrekBBS.Because of Discovery taking a mid-season break, that show won’t end until the middle of March at this point. Since Paramount won’t want to air both shows at the same time, I doubt we’re gonna get season 2 until the end of March.
Nothing’s been confirmed one way or the other, but that seems most likely.
Precious Tritium used wording that clearly indicating he was supposing, not reporting facts.Stop propagating this rumor as if it were fact. There's no rule that two Trek shows can't be streaming at the same time -- that's something that's been invented on TrekBBS.
They're not.Stop propagating this rumor as if it were fact.
My point is that there is ZERO basis to even suggest that Picard S2's premiere date might be pushed off because of the Disco hiatus. Yet somehow, it has become the defacto Rule of Trek Streaming on this board.Precious Tritium used wording that clearly indicating he was supposing, not reporting facts.
That's not true at all. Discovery being on hiatus for exactly the same length of time that Prodigy is back gives some basis. Plus none of the other new series have overlapped each other for more than a single episode. My point is that there is ZERO basis

It's a theory yes, but not a baseless one.
Discovery coming back in February has pushed back Picard's release date I looked it up on Imdb but they didn't have any new info about it yet.
That hasn't been officially confirmed.Discovery coming back in February has pushed back Picard's release date
One piece of data (sorry -- datum) isn't a trend. That's not true at all. Discovery being on hiatus for exactly the same length of time that Prodigy is back gives some basis.
But they have overlapped. We shall see what happens with Picard S2. It's not like the Discovery hiatus took them by surprise. This was planned long ago -- certainly when the Picard S2 trailer was released on Star Trek Day in September.Plus none of the other new series have overlapped each other for more than a single episode.
They only announced it 2 weeks before. There was no hint at it all. It's not like the Discovery hiatus took them by surprise.

February... March... April... it's a matter of a few weeks here or a few weeks there...
Does it really matter? I'd rather they spend that extra time polishing it up than release it 90% cooked.
How about what AMC does with their The Walking Dead franchise; they would split half of their seasons for one show TWD approx.5 or 6 eps. take a break and air it during the new year while the spin-off series "Fear..." will do the same thing then "World Beyond" would start their 6 eps and finally TWD would return for their second half of their season. Rise, wash, and repeat?I would enjoy looking forward to both Discovery and Picard every week.
