Season 2 Premiere Date?

The last trailer said Feb 2022, so until otherwise stated, I'm expecting to see Delancie snapping his fingers within 4-8 weeks.

The opportune time to announce a rescheduling of Picard would have been when they announced Discovery's mid-season hiatus, I would've thought.

Yes, it matters! Because I was promised a February 2022 release date, and I don't want to fucking wait three more months because lame Discovery needs to finish out a season. I'm old enough to remember a time when there were several Trek shows airing at once. All this has happened before, all this will happen again!

Ah, you're a person who gets spitting angry about television shows.

Doesn't matter then. Moving on to more rational discussion elsewhere.

How about what AMC does with their The Walking Dead franchise; they would split half of their seasons for one show TWD approx.5 or 6 eps. take a break and air it during the new year while the spin-off series "Fear..." will do the same thing then "World Beyond" would start their 6 eps and finally TWD would return for their second half of their season. Rise, wash, and repeat?
If it were alternating between DSC and PIC and whatever else, and they had good stopping and starting points, then that would work. Just like it looks like they're doing with Discovery and Prodigy at the moment.

Granted, I also can't wait to see Picard Season 2, but I'm not at the point where I'm like, "I WANT TO SEE IT AND I WANT TO SEE IT NOW!!!"

Unless I'm dying in three months, I'll still be here when the new season of Picard arrives.

I'm also still waiting on Better Call Saul Season 6. Covid messed things up across the board. Blame Covid. It's likely they didn't have post-production of either DSC Season 4 or PIC Season 2 finished when they promised these release dates, but wanted to get something out. We're stuck with this situation until Covid's not a problem anymore.

Wow calm down.

Its disappointing. But I’d rather PIC S2 be the best quality it can be.

No more cut and paste ships like in the S1 finale unless necessary.

And it did take them by surprise. CTV Sci-Fi and Crave both had Prodigy listed to go through the month of November originally, and had it continuing past the midseason finale, with episode 6 listed as coming out on November 25th 2021, but after the hiatus announcement, changed their listings.

Those weren’t dates speculated on fan sites, that was official information from Star Trek’s Canadian distributors on both their streaming and broadcast/cable services, and the fact that they were given information that turned out to be false indicates that they weren’t initially planning on pulling Prodigy for hiatus, or at the very least, weren’t/aren’t good at giving even those who are distributing the show advance notice of schedule changes.

It does seem like Discovery's hiatus may not have been expected initially. I am wondering if the hiatus is the result of post-production delays for the later episodes of the season. I believe many of the editors continue to work from home (or have returned to working from due to omicron) and that may have slowed things down a bit. I remember reading editors were scrambling to get the final episodes of season 3 done on time.

I suspect Picard season 2 will be pushed back by a couple weeks.

Every show was renewed except Picard. Now they didn't say it would end after Season 3, but I still personally believe it will.
