Season 1: Conspiracy *First time watcher*

Remmick: We seek peaceful coexistence
He sounded sarcastic when he said that. :p

I liked this story, it showed that not all species in the galaxy are kind and benevolent. There's a few nasty ones out there.

I'm just wondering how Remick could stay alive with the big one in his body? I ask the same about Aliens with the creatures inside the person before they pop out of the chest....where's the room for it...the organs take up alot of space. :vulcan:

They're sort of not, is the point. In the case of Alien, Kane is dying by that point.

Remmick, however, is quite clearly no longer alive independently of the bug inside him - he's just a vessel now for that thing. It's why he has to die, unlike others controlled by the bug.

Easily the best episode of season one. Perhaps even out of the first two seasons (though Measure of a Man and Q Who are close by).

I wouldn't forget "11001001" either. I think that one just slightly beats out Conspiracy for the best of S1. Way underrated.

Since the alien had managed to send off a message/beacon before the episode concluded with the infestation apparently wiped out, I had always expected throughout the run of the show or at least the movies, that these creatures would arrive to make another attempt. It seems a sadly missed opportunity. In many ways, I thought they were a more interesting "enemy" than some of the others in Trek. Once begun, the invasion was more subtle, harder to penetrate and more difficult to even notice than any other. The episode itself had many intriguing moments. I do wish TNG had followed up on "Conspiracy."

The DS9 "relaunch" books give a very satisfying (IMO) conclusion to this episode. Highly recommended.

Good episode. A lot of fun. And questionable FX aside, it still is effectively riveting and creepy.
