SDCC Exclusives - anyone else eagerly awaiting them?

I'll second that suckitude!

Who knows how long mine will take crossing the border. Considering Mike's Comics is almost due east of me... I should have just drove there. That's right folks, I'm in that part of Canada that's further south than all of, or part of, thirteen states!

But customs still suck. And they'd better not open them and start playing with my Doctors!

They're heeeeerrreeeeeee ... My favorite thing about them is Doctor Two's bow-tie, how's it's all crooked. It's perfect.

I've been building my own classic Tardis console room. Foam board, matte board, canabalising any old electronics devices I can find... I've taken apart several remote controls, cellphones, micro-cassette recorders...

Pictures dammit!! ;) Is this control room sized for figures or you?

Maaan, I remember seeing something about these figures, I didn't realize they were SDCC exclusives. I figured Doc's 1 and 2 would get their own release eventually, along with 3. I want them both, but can't decide if I want to spend sixty some odd bucks on a couple of figures. And then which ones? BW or Color?

Will these two Doc's ever get a normal release like the other classic Doc's?

Word is that the only way to get the classic Doctors from now on is through exclusive relases and that they'll never be general release figures. Whether that remains true is anyone's guess. But that's certainly how it looks for now.

And the console room is sized for the figures, not me. ;)

Yeah, classic Doctors probably are going to be exclusives from here on. They're probably thinking that only fans of earlier Doctors are only interested in toys of earlier Doctors and aren't making that many of them for general release.

I think there's already been an announcement that the Sixth Doctor regeneration figure (in the Fifth Doctor's costume) will be an exclusive, but that may be exclusive just to the U.S. and Canada...

And then there are the two upcoming sets with the Third Doctor, each one featuring him in a different costume and with a different baddie from his era.

*sigh*

I'm still waiting for mine. With Canada having had it's Civic holiday yesterday... They're probably stuck in a box in customs. I know Canadian Customs has them. The tracking number tells me that much at least.

Hope you're enjoying yours Omaha and Chris3123. Have some fun for me, will ya?

I am! One and Two look *awesome* with Four, Five, and Six and Six. :D

You know what I love the most today? The Doctor who gets the *least* respect from fans - the Sixth - is the one who will have the most variety in the toyline. Original outfit, blue costume, Regeneration costume. That's what we know of so far. He's finally getting some respect. Oh, and I'll have them all.

I'm still debating whether or not I should get the color versions of One and Two, to go along with the black and white ones. I probably won't. But the color versions are still available at Mike's Comics, for cheaper than they were at SDCC. In case anyone is still on the fence.

btw, Six in his blue costume is probably my favorite Doctor Who figure yet. Even more than the Face of Boe and my dear Cybermen. I wish, wish, wish, we could have seen him dressed in that costume in the series. It would have eliminated the "clown man" comments.

Yeah, I ordered my color Docs One and Two from Mike's on a Wednesday and received them two days later. I was still waiting for an email that Mike had shipped them when the postman showed up on my doorstep with them...

And my wait continues!!!

First, Mike is fast with filling and shipping orders. And we had the Canadian holiday Monday. What's funny is, when I got something shipped via normal mail (no insurance) I got it in three days. Orders with Priority shipping and insurance always take longer but now...

Oh!

My roomie has them!!! I was out this morning, she was home before leaving for an appointment and I got a text from her saying she has them! As she was pulling out of the building (high rise) the postal carrier was buzzing at the intercom. She asked if it was for our apartment, he said yes and so she took them with her!!!

So here I am impatiently waiting for her to get back.

I ordered mine from Forbidden Planet a few days before the official release date and they arrived last Friday. I really like them, but I won't be taking them out of their packaging. Going to order the Pertwee figures and the newly regenerated 6th doctor figure. Also mega tempted by the special 4th doctor set too.

If anyone does display their figures would love to see a photo of them.

Did you use .com or .co.uk? If the .co.uk, did you have any issues with your credit card number being stolen?

Yikes!!! I used co.uk. I did not realise that they were having credit card numbers stolen. Thanks for the warning, I'm off to check now!

The .com and .co.uk sites have the same basic content and pricing, but the .co.uk site isn't secure. I'm one of those victims. I had ordered the SDCC figures from them the day they went online. This was long before Mike's Comics had them, or they had decided who could ship where. Well, it wasn't much more than a week later, I had mysterious charges showing up from France and India and a couple from Canada and elsewhere, and they were all traced back to the .co.uk site. As I discovered, their server has been hacked, and they've never done anything to fix it. As recently as this past weekend, people were complaining about their credit card numbers being stolen after ordering from there.

Do a quick google search. It's scary.

I got in touch with my credit card company and everything seems ok...so far. Will keep an eye on it. Thank you again for letting me know.

Between the CC issues and the extremely poor international service I'd never order from FP again (obviously you can't for the regional exclusives anyhow).

So... no pics posted by anyone? OK, here are some quick ones I took.

And there they sit, on the desk shelf above my monitor. I'm leaving my Blue Colin in the package, even though he looks far better than the TV costume.

The only thing that bothers me is the Sixth Doctor's scale in relation to the other Doctors--for some reason I always thought he was among the taller Doctors, not shorter ones...either that or the Fifth Doctor figure is taller than he should be...

They royally screwed that up yes. The Fifth Doctor is far too tall. In Time Crash, Tennant is clearly taller than Davison yet it's reversed with the figures. My understanding is that they were sculpted in the proper scale but that the problem came after, in the manufacturing.
