Scifi pet names???

What do you do when you meet a smart, funny, and attractive woman who owns a cat named Phaser? In my case, I married her.

Couldn't think of any skiffy names that fit our newer cats, so they're just called Spencer and Katie. I have at times been tempted to rename one or the other of them Disruptor, though...

I've always wanted to name a cat "Praxis."

So far, we've owned 5 cats and I haven't been allowed to name any of them. Sylvester & Speckie came pre-named. My mother named a local stray Quackie before she decided to adopt her. My sister named Clawdia & Adelaide and no one would take my suggestions.

When we first got Adelaide, I thought I might have a chance at naming this one. Rather than an obviously SF/F name, I suggested "Alice," as in Alice in Wonderland because I thought her behavior just kept getting "curiouser & curiouser."

I let my daughter name one of our cats...it was a disaster. He had, well, very saggy balls...very. So she named him, quite simple, BALLS. So when ever guests came over and we told them the cats name, well, after awhile, after seeing our cat from the rear, they realized why...

My male cat is named Apollo clearly with the BSG connection in mind.
I plan to get a second cat Apollo can play with while I'm away.
I'll name the second Starbuck, which can be either male or female. That's the beauty of it. ;)

What, nobody has a Miss Kitty Fantastico?

I sometimes referred to our recently departed cat Shadow as "Shadowcat, the Prydeful Kitty."

You people are sick, sick, sick. The names you saddle your animals with.;) Except Christopher-now that's some funny s***!:guffaw:
I gave my dogs nice, normal names. Abby and Little Bit('cause he's a little bit of trouble-he tries too be good but...)

Oh, wait, I once had a Siamese named Friday. Guess I'm as guilty as the rest of you...:p

I knew we'd get you Mistral....

The last cat we had, who I am sad to say met his maker thanks to a racoon, was named
Khan. And yes, when i saw his mangled body i did indeed yell his name, which i will spare doing to you all here...

i had a rabbit called Rigil. we named him after Rigil from Farscape.
my parents dog is called Zena i don't think i need to tell u where that came from.
i also had a hamster called Mia. i named her after Mia from space 1999. this was about 10 years ago mind

I just got two kittens last year, a male and a female. The names aren't original but I named them Luke and Leah. I had a few other names in mind, but the old lady wasn't having it.

I have just adopted a virtual pet (a cat) who I have named Winchester because I am a great Supernatural fan. If I ever get another male pet in real this is the name he will get.

Holy Thread Bumping!

We've just taken in a stray cat that I'm trying to convince my housemate to call Super Nova.

I have cats named B'Elanna and Seven (of Nine Lives).

Conversely, Qat'qa in IFM is named after one of the abbreviations for our oldest cat, Katya the Cannonball

When we were in art school together in the 70s, my wife and her friend shared two pet lab rats. One was black with white, one was white with black. Yup, Lokai and Beale.
