SciFi Channel Twilight Zone Marathon...

JiNX-01

Admiral
Admiral
Starts 8 a.m. New Year's Eve, running throughout New Year's Day and overnight into Saturday morning.

I have a lot of must-sees on the list!

Anyone notice some of the episodes in the marathon appeared to be the remastered episodes, while others seemed to be a crappier old transfer?

The Howling Man still chills me to this day; that's the one I saw....

I remember reading that they actually wanted to film 'the ending devil walk' with hoofs...but it was too much money and time, IIRC....

The other I saw on that day was The Silence, which has a very interesting ending as well....

Actually, I think the idea was that they were going to show less than they ended up showing. The actor was going to alter his facial expression from good to evil, as he did in the final piece, then he was going to go stomping off, and as he went out the window all we'd see was one hoofed foot instead of a hand leaving the window sill. That more subtle approach was nixed by the director, who felt that they promised the audience a devil and they had to deliver a visible one. Personally, I think the more subtle approach would have worked better. The facial expression transformation by itself was more effective than the silly horn appliances.

Interesting....!;)

Rod Serling was a genius.

I'm sure he never knew we'd be talking about his show 50 years later, let alone on something called the internet...

And no anthology show has really came close to duplicating its success, even the TZ remakes...
