(Phys.org)—The question of why space is three-dimensional (3D) and not some other number of dimensions has puzzled philosophers and scientists since ancient Greece. Space-time overall is four-dimensional, or (3 + 1)-dimensional, where time is the fourth dimension. It's well-known that the time dimension is related to the second law of thermodynamics: time has one direction (forward) because entropy (a measure of disorder) never decreases in a closed system such as the universe.
The scientists propose that space is 3D because of a
thermodynamic quantity called the Helmholtz free energy density. In a universe filled with radiation, this density can be thought of as a kind of pressure on all of space, which depends on the universe's temperature and its number of spatial dimensions.

Thermodynamic Quantity - Energy is the thermodynamic quantity used to describe the energy of heat flows, chemicals, and fuels in a comparable way.
5th Dimensional Space, such as space before the Big Bang happened, would have been void of Thermodynamic Quantity as we know it. The reason being is that chemicals and fuels that are studied and prove thermodynamic quantity would not have been present prior to the Big Bang.
However, there would still have been some mechanic involved that created pressure and temperature in the 5th dimension, otherwise all forms of energy would simply have ceased to exist.

Without the Second Law of Thermodynamics existing prior to the Big Bang and space-time on the outside of the Universe not possessing thermodynamics that we currently understand, time would have flowed in all directions, forwards, backwards, sideways and diagonally. Basically time loops back on itself at all moments of every second due to anti-entropy existing in the open system of space-time.
What does a black hole do? A black hole orders all matter into an infinite time loop inside of the horizon.
Creating a new Universe requires necessity. Necessity is a form of disorganization in so much that life needs all matter to be disorganized from the time loop in order build upon.
Basically, inside of the black hole, you would be able to occupy any point inside of the black hole almost instantly as all of time would be looping in an organized manner. Once outside of the black hole however, the loop of time would be going forward only and with so much disorganization of matter going everywhere, the time it would take to cross the diameter of the center of the black hole, far above the black holes center where its gravity was not influencing the path of travel, the distance traveled would take much longer.
