Sci Fi TV Recommendations

I'm not going to stop responding until you do.
I'm getting really tired of you trying to act like you know more about something you have no experience with than the people who actually do, so I'm not giving it up this time.

Before this thread disappears into history, I do legitimately want to say thanks for the suggestions people gave. It may not have worked for me, but I appreciate that people took the time, even if I didn't end up using most of the suggestions and didn't like the ones I did try. At the very least, the thread did help me realize I'm not missing any hidden gems (new or old), which is good because wondering about that helped contribute to my inability to choose a show.

I mean, I'm still basically in that mode (I spent about 90 minutes today trying to find a show even know I knew I wouldn't succeed :brickwall:), but now its knowing that I'm not missing any options. So, despite none of the recommendations working for me and the thread completely derailing about halfway through, it did serve a purpose.

I'll probably just end up watching some of the Classic Doctor Who I haven't seen and various Star Trek episodes when I want some space sci fi. I've also been considering going through Twilight Zone just for some general sci fi/etc since I've only seen a bit of it and even then mostly just the really famous episodes, but I'm undecided about how good a show that would be to watch a bunch of it in a row.

I don't have any real plans for Fantasy stuff, I might just find a decent fantasy anime if I really need to see some fantasy style stuff (I'd hoped to find a non-anime fantasy series since anime is my normal go to place for fantasy shows nowadays, but at the very least there are a lot of different kinds of fantasy anime to see).

So, yeah, thanks for the recommendations. I apologize if anyone felt like I didn't take their recommendations seriously (outside of the people pushing The Expanse even though I tried to take it off the table :vulcan:), and for any frustration anyone may have had to my reactions to various recommendations.

Getting back to the original issue, I'd suggest keeping on with Blake's 7 for a bit longer. Episode three has a full volume role for BRIAN BLESSED, if that's an encouragement...

I really don't think I'll be getting back to it. I just really, really didn't like episode 2. Plus, I've gotten back in the mood to watch more of the Classic Doctor Who serials I haven't seen, so that's giving me my fill of classic Sci Fi TV (I'd still like a good modern Sci Fi or Fantasy show that I haven't seen, but I've pretty much given up on that).

Your call, obviously, but Space Fall is as atypical of a regular "Ship and crew" episode as The Way Back. The series takes its time getting to 'normal', and then upsets that every half season or so.
Stand-aloneish episodes (one per season) you might try are...
Duel (Terry Nation and - uncredited - Chris Boucher/Douglas Camfield)
Killer (Robert Holmes/Vere Lorrimer)
Deathwatch (Boucher/Gerald Blake)
Gold (Colin Davis/Viv Cozens)

I fully expect this suggestion to be shot down , but I'm putting in a recommendation for the old 80s cartoon Robotech.
