I'm not going to judge it until I see it. Although I do kinda how they move to a new location, so we're not stuck with the same old "planets".
New Mexico, pleeeeease.

I want proper alien worlds for a change!
But we'll get stuck with the same old dreaded pine trees.
Since we already know we're getting a rehash of a rehash, my one wish is for
Stargate to once again do the one thing it excels at, mainly casting a hotty as the lead actor. Michael Trucco would do just fine.
Most bald premises don't sound good.
Like the guy in your av?
There have been a lot of premises that sounded good.
VOY's sounded good at first - the reason
SG:U sounds bad is because we know that
Stargate +
VOY doesn't equal anything good.
ENT sounded good.
BSG - basically
VOY with Ron Moore doing it right - sounded frakkin'
great.
While I hate the fact of SG:A being replaced by this, hopefully we'll get at least one familiar face on the show.
For their sake, I hope it's Ronin - he's the only one on Atlantis who's ever right about anything.
They do need new writers for sure, hey what about bringing on some of BSG's writers! after all it about being stuck on a ship and them tryingt o get to Earth! LOL
This is essentially the same premise, but without any Cylons chasing them (tho I wouldn't discount them picking up a Cylon-type enemy along the way). The bigger change is no need for political or religious metaphors. So yeah, the
BSG writers would be a big improvement. By taking an apolitical approach,
SG:U won't seem like a
BSG ripoff -
VOY ripoff, maybe - and the
BSG writers can write strong character-based stories, which is the only place for
SG:U to go other than the dreaded gimmick based stories which I'm certain we'll be getting instead of anything good.
Look out for the 'hawt', busty, de-ascended Ancient babe and the muscular, male 1st officer who has a habit of reporting for duty in his underwear.
Oh why not. It's going to be a trainwreck, why not make it entertainingly bad?
