Say something POSITIVE about your least favorite Trek show / season / episode / character …

I don't care for much of "Enterprise" at all, but I can name three positives - the theme song by Rod Stewart was good, the choice to have Scott Bakula as Captain Archer was also good, and I enjoyed Brent Spiner's appearances as Arik Soong. :)

the theme song by Rod Stewart was good
It sure sounds like Rod, but it's not. Per Memory Alpha:
Russell Watson (born 24 November 1966; age 57) is an English vocalist and tenor who sang the opening theme song from Star Trek: Enterprise entitled "Where My Heart Will Take Me", which was originally recorded as "Faith of the Heart" by Rod Stewart for the film Patch Adams.

Favorite Series: Enterprise
Good grief does it have juvenile notions on relationships and sexuality sometimes. Especially early in the show. Some episodes... what were they thinking?

Least Favourite Series: Discovery
It's vibrant in tone, and takes risks, some of which pay off very well.

Least favorites:

Show: Discovery, but it did give us Jett Reno! And Anson Mount's Pike!
Season: ST:TNG's Season Two was boring. But "The Measure of a Man" and "Matter of Honor" were excellent.
Episode: TNG "Code of Honor" was awful and offensive. But Jessie Lawrence Ferguson acted the hell out of his role.
Character: Dr. Pulaski. But I liked the way she related to Worf, and her interest in Klingon culture.

Leat Favorite show Discovery...(I haven't watched the cartoons through. So I don't have much clue about them. So just keeping it to live action)

Its hard for me to find much to like about this show.(Sorry) I watched all the seasons one time and probably never again. I do like the opening and theme of the show. Out of all the characters I would say there are two not one....Staments and Culber. I think they have been underused lately though. Culber has more to do episode 3 of season 5. Staments barely anything. I would like to see less of the mushy stuff when they talk about Adira and Gray and their family. It gets a bit heavy handed at times. Their relationship though is well done.

Sadly the show quickly became the Michael/Book and sometimes Saru show since season 3

Favorite Episode/season..??. I could not tell you since I have not seen everything more than once and don't remember much anymore. Maybe season 1 because it reintroduced Pike/Spock and Number 1.

Discoverys effects are good enough but the designs on most of the ships are just awful. Especially the 32nd century Starfleet ships. (I guess we can blame Enterprises look into the future with I think it was 28th century ships) The discoverys initial exterior itself looked pre TOS enough and I liked it....but the interior is a whole other story. Lol....I know I stated more or less than the op wanted. Sorry..

Favorite show is a tie between DS9 and TOS. I will go with DS9 since there are more episodes. Least favorite character would have to be Jake. He's completely underused the entire show and not all that interesting. (Though he is a highlight of one of my favorite episodes, The Visitor..lol)
Worst episode would be (do I really have to say it??....we all know....lol)
MOVE ALONG HOME. I still watch it during a whole show rewatch but it's just awful...season 1 is also my least favorite season.

Forgot to get to the second part of the question -- something negative about things in each category I like! So here goes:

Series: I love me some TOS, but Kirk's skirt-chasing was a turn-off for me. It took me years, and the TOS films, to warm up to the character.
Season: TOS Season Two was amazing. But. "The Omega Glory" and the holy words "Eed plebnista"? Not so much.
Episode: Tough to pick one, but let me throw a dart at the "Favorite Episode" wheel and see what I hit. Okay. TNG "The Measure of a Man" was amazing. But it annoyed me that Louvois thought the real issue was "Does Data have a soul?" Sweetie, this is a courtroom and you're a judge; it's not a church and you're not a clergywoman. And the question before you is "Does he have the legal rights of a person?", not "Does he have a soul?"
Character: McCoy was my first love, as TV characters go. But sometimes his teasing of Spock crossed a line.

My favorite part of my least favorite Trek: Quark's Bar from Deep Space Nine is a really cool Trek locale, and has great ambiance, kind of like an answer to Star Wars' Mos Eisley Cantina.

Least favorite part of my favorite Trek: I know it's technically something I haven't even seen yet so I feel bad counting it as a negative, but I'm afraid to watch the musical episode of Strange New Worlds, because I generally don't like musicals anyway, and I don't know if the entire cast is able to carry a tune.

Strange New Worlds returned us to an episodic format and also brought back the Aenar in the form of a really interesting character.

DS9 has a bunch relationships that don't really make sense to me and are thus completely uninteresting and even out of character

and I don't know if the entire cast is able to carry a tune.
I am a trained vocalist, and they mostly do it great. Anson and Babs are a little weaker than the others, but Christine, Ethan, and Uhura's actress (I'll probably remember her name three seconds after I post this) are unbelievably good, and the others aren't far behind. Including Paul Wesley, who shows up again as Kirk.

Picard was a mess in terms of story, but had awesome production values, and amazing music in the third season, and I liked them tying in the Assignment Earth stuff in season 2

Least liked:

Character: Kes – she seemed to be coming into her own in VOY’s third season. She basically had a glow up this season.

Episode: “A Night In Sickbay” – at least the cast had fun making the episode. And the episode did have a couple of funny lines.

Season: TAS S2 – an extremely short season, but is also the first season of Star Trek to win an Emmy ever. And a major Emmy at that.

Show: Discovery – Despite the many shortcomings this show had, at least they tried to do new things, even if they were controversial.

Faves:

Character: Worf – my favourite character, but he is not a good father

Episode: “Tapestry” – not enough exploration into the alternate Picard’s life on the Ent-D

Season: TNG S5 – a missed opportunity to bring back Dr. Pulaski for an episode, specifically “Ethics”. Though “The First Duty” could have also worked with Pulaski as an instructor at the Academy.

Show: Lower Decks – Um…they are rather obsessed with hotness on this show.

I'll confine myself to first-season TOS episodes:

"The Man Trap": hokey premise, nightmare-fodder monster, but it did have moments of very good character development.

"The Devil in the Dark": Beautiful story, in which a supposed monster turns out to be a mother protecting the entire next generation of her species, but things did move a bit too fast after communication was established.

Positive comments about bad things:

Least Favourite Live Action Show: SNW - I love the props and it has a great cast. The opening credits are pretty good as well, with nice imagery and a catchy theme.

Least Favourite Animated Show: TAS - It actually stayed true to TOS, with the same characters doing the same jobs in the same kind of stories. Same actors too! It even looks the same.

Least Favourite Season: Enterprise S1 - It did try to explore its premise of an underdog ship exploring space for the first time.

Least Favourite Episode: TNG Masks - It... features the classic TNG theme tune. Sorry, I'm struggling here.

Least Favourite Character: I don't know who my least favourite is. Maybe Adira from Discovery? Being a human with a Trill symbiont from the distant future gave them a lot of potential for interesting stories.

Negative comments about good things:

Favourite Live Action Show: Deep Space Nine. When I saw Ira Behr's name on an episode I knew it was either going to be a classic... or a Ferengi episode.

Favourite Animated Show: Lower Decks - I really don't like when it goes off into fantasy concepts like the koala, a dude being turned into a puppet, the Dooplers etc. Save it for cartoons with actual magic.

Favourite Season: Lower Decks S2 - Features the Dooplers and the dude getting turned into a puppet.

Favourite Episode: DS9 The Way of the Warrior - Adding Worf to the cast may have given other characters less to do.

Favourite Character: Man, I don't know who my all time favourite Trek character is! I'll compromise by saying something bad about all the leads:
  • Kirk - Shatner's performance strays into the ridiculous occassionally.
  • Picard - A little too fond of letting millions die because interfering might affect their culture.
  • Sisko - Avery Brooks' line delivery was a little odd at times.
  • Janeway - Has a habit of driving her ship into incredibly dangerous things.
  • Archer - Was probably miscast.
  • Burnham - Is the centre of the multiverse.
  • Mariner - She's not the best at everything, but it sure seems like that sometimes.
  • Pike - Great with people, less great at commanding a ship.
  • Dal - Everything annoying about him is intentional, but it's still annoying.

DSC is my least favorite show, but I will say that they were bold enough to try new things. I didn't like it most of the time, but you can't blame the writers for a lack of creativity. Also, the technical side was great ... f/x and visuals were state of the art.

My favorite shows are TOS, TNG and DS9 (shared spot #1)... it's easy to find bad things to say... TOS hasn't aged well when it comes to gender roles, and many technical aspects, the sets, the acting, the f/x look very dated by today's standards, occasionally even involuntarily funny. TNG has the great flaw of lacking really strong female roles. And there are quite a few rather bland, if not to say boring episodes in DS9, too, especially in the first two seasons.

Season:

I really don't like ENT season 3, I hate the premise. But to say something positive: It was technically well written, so that it certainly isn't the most boring or most uneven season.

It's hard for me to decide which is my favorite season, since there are so many I really like ... so I will say that even in TNG's and DS9's best seasons, there was always a fair share of bland or somewhat boring episodes. There is not a single season that is 100% perfect from beginning to the end.

Episode:

Hard to name just one episode I love or dislike ... but let's just take one each as example:
TOS's "Spock's Brain" must be one of the worst episodes, but imo, it's so bad that it's even entertaining. It's even more enjoyable when you watch it in company and combine it with a drinking game or so ... whenever something patently stupid happens, have another shot. Maybe the all times worst episode, but not the least entertaining.

For quite a while, TNG "The Best of Both Worlds" has been among my favorite episodes, but when I rewatched it recently, I felt the Riker/Shelby competition subplot distracts too much from the main plot. In general, there is a bit too much talking in the first part.

Character:

Very hard to choose just one I love or dislike ... I go with Spock: As amazing as he was on TOS, I feel we learned too few about his Vulcan culture due to the episodes he's in. It's mostly just two episodes, "Amok Time" and "Journey to Babel", and the movies III and IV. The later shows gave us more to learn about Vulcan, especially ENT, but considering this and the huge role Vulcan culture played and plays in the non-canon novels and fan fic, we learnt surprisingly few through Spock himself. As for SNW Spock, I have to say although I love Ethan Peck's performance and the series in general, he's a tiny bit too different from Nimoy's Spock. Sometimes I have a hard time seeing him as the same character (unlike Zachary Quinto's Spock).

A character I dislike ... take mirror Georgiou on DSC. That's easy: While I hate the character, the actress is amazing. Nothing bad to say about Michelle Yeoh's performance, she is great.

Another character I dislike: Neelix is absolutely annoying, imo. But I think he makes VOY more accessible for children. He contributes to make VOY a mostly family friendly show.

I agree that Worf was a bad father. Kirk abandoned his role as a father, which in my view is even worse.
I disagree about Kirk: Carol wanted Kirk to "stay away" so David would be safe with her and not run off into dangerous space following his father and possibly die. It seems to be her decision. She also filled him with distrust/hate of Starfleet which was the cause of David being hostile to Kirk when they first meet; it's all her fault.
KIRK: I did what you wanted. ...I stayed away. ...Why didn't you tell him?
CAROL: How can you ask me that? Were we together? Were we going to be? You had your world and I had mine. And I wanted him in mine, not chasing through the universe with his father. ... Actually, he's a lot like you. In many ways.

Kirk didn't even try to be a father, going entirely for his career. Carol gave him the choice, and he chose to not be a father at all. He had a responsibility to at least have some kind of presence... even if it's being a subspace dad. It's one thing to have a Starfleet career and kids back home that you at least talk to sometimes, but it is entirely different to simply have the kid and decide to not bother at all when given the option. That's abandoning your responsibility.

I really liked the tricorder, communicator, phaser and food slots you see in the first seasons of Discovery. I also loved Lorca and Pike as captains of the ship and felt like a "captain of the season" approach would've served the show well.

General Picard’s trophy room was a fantastic visual feast, from TOS phasers to the World Razer painting to the skulls of his enemies. I genuinely loved the concept of the Confederation and wish it had been explored further.
