Say it..DAMMIT!!!

"Jim...You're name is Jim"

"One damn minute, Admiral."

"They like you very much, but they are not the hell you're whales."

"No ma'am, no dipshit."

"Death to the opposition!"

"Are you outta' your Vulcan mind!"

"The Enterprise...show me the bridge of the Enterprise."
"There have been five ships with that name. Please specify by registry number."
"N-C-C- 1-7-0-1. No bloody A, B, C, or D."

"I will not sacrifice the Enterprise. We've made too many compromises already, too many retreats. They invade our space and we fall back. They assimilate entire worlds and we fall back. Not again. The line must be drawn here! This far, no further! And I will make them pay for what they've done."

"Jean Luc, blow up the damn ship!"

My friend and I love to quote lines from movies, and then guess where they came from. What are some of TREK's greatest quotes? I actually believe TREK has the most famous ONE WORD movie quote of all time..you guessed it..

KAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHN!!!
I dunno, I think "Rosebud" from Citizen Kane and Marlon Brando shouting "STELLAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!" in A Streetcar Named Desire would be equally good contenders for that title.

Gotta agree with Biggles here. I think the Star Trek quote is very well known in scifi circles...and perhaps to some people who don't care at all about scifi...but I think "Rosebud" and "Stellaaaa!" are more well known by a larger cross-section of people.

How about "Attica!" (although repeated several times it is a single word quote).

I have to disagree. I teach 10th grade History, and I am utterly amazed at how history has no bearing in this current generation. If I were to use "rosebud" in a quote or, "STELLLA!!", they would look at me with lost expression. But the few times I have done Khan over the years, they kids no immediatly it is Kirk...

I think "Rosebud" is far more recognisable than either "Stella" or "Attica"; by a very comfortable margin.

Since you're a teacher, then, I hope you view it as an opportunity to educate them on the classics of American cinema, rather than a reason to piss and moan about the stupidity of our nation's children.

Not being familiar with older movie quotes is not a measure of stupidity.

Believe it or not, if you look at lists of famous movie quotes on the Internet you'll find "Rosebud" and "Attica", but not "Stella".

Fine, it's a measure of cultural ignorance, then. But it still stands that I hope RobertScorpio is seizing the opportunity rather than whinging about it on a messageboard.

no whining here..I actually think STELLA and ROSEBUD should be atop the list. But I can't blame the youth. All things fade with time, as does pop culture. Three hundred years from now ROSEBUD will be barely a bump on the collective 'ass' of our world's culture...that's just the way it is..

I'm sorry, but my cultured ass does not have any bumps on it!

Oh wait, that's not what you were talking about.

Never mind!

No, but I am holding my guns close.
