Gonna ask for a source, here. Goldblum himself said that he only wanted to do a brief gig.
Give me a second to find it. But I remember Goldblum saying he wished for a part that was more than sitting behind a desk.

No, dinosaurs with frickin' laser beamsMaybe show Dinosaurs with feathers?
Maybe show Dinosaurs with feathers?
Didn't they already do both of those in JPIII?And bright-colored skin!
"But...but...then they won't be scary anymore!"
I've long for a live-action adaption of this childhood classic! No, dinosaurs with frickin' laser beams
Did they? Other than the excellent pterandon sequence and the silliness with the velociraptors, I don't remember much of that film.Didn't they already do both of those in JPIII?
Yes, of course. But, when millions of dollars are being gambled with, and Jurassic Park is demonstrating staying power, why would a studio move away from that?If a new premise is good, it too can clean up financially. A QUIET PLACE, for starters. Yeah, they're planning a sequel for that too. Every horror film feels they have to reenact THE NEVER ENDING STORY. Most franchises too.
That's not how Hollywood works, sadly. It'd be the right thing to do. Then they could find true meaning in their product. Like in the glorious pre-Spielberg 1970s.![]()
I'm not trying to knock her. I actually like her, but she's doing these movies no favors imho, & yeah, that's surely not all her fault, but I can imagine she'll be back, & if the other outings are any indicator, I'm not optimisticI found her fine in THE VILLAGE, but most moviegoers at the time seemed to dislike the film. She wasn't allowed to improve TERMINATOR IV or the last two JURASSICS any. I'm not sure how she could have, unless she was given an actual character to play.
Even recent Oscar winners like Brie Larsen tend to get a vacuous role for their follow-up project. See KONG SKULL ISLAND. Not the worst of the franchise by any means, but her character made Fay Wray look complex.
It's more likely one of the original 3 are sacrificedMaybe she'll be back in a cameo role in which she's killed early on as a catalyst for the primary plot of the film?
...am I being too optimistic?
If I was taking Vegas odds, my money would be on Alan Grant going out in a final act of heroismThat would be...unfortunate.
"Life finds a way... eventually. It might be late for lunch."Jurassic World III moves to 2022
This one's a surprise given that it was the first blockbuster to resume shooting and had been doing so successfully.
