Ryan Church's design, don't mince words, what do you really feel?

She's not the greatest ship to bear the name (at least not yet), but she's a worthy hull on which to paint the name "Enterprise".

I vote "not too bad, but could have been better. And, no, I don't want to see the original TV version in a modern film. Stop that."

Err, my poll options tend to get opinionated.

I'm fine with it, but I'd be more fine with it if we actually got some decent beauty shots of it in the next movie.

It's looks "off" somehow ... not proportioned which makes it a bit ugly. I think the Enterprise in ST VI was the best design as it looked good from any angle.

Church's design is good.

ILM's "improvement"... not so much.

Beat me to it ... I think the Church design is CLOSE to being acceptable, but the packaging of the thing took it in the wrong direction.

EDIT ADDON: I'm not a huge fan of Church's work in general, I like Clyne's a whole lot more, though I'd take Jim Martin -- too much of a trek vet to have made it on the st11 team? -- over either of them anytime.

It may help if you had a link or an actual pic in this thread.

I wouldn't call it terrible, but it really doesn't do much for me.

It's clearly lacking something: Character? Soul? Charm? No idea, but it's not there.

Ryan Church's painting was gorgeous ... I'd have preferred to see a better implementation of it than what we got.

And ... I agree, this poll is slanted against the new design.

I think Mr. Church's design was ok, I saw a few images on his web site and I like the way the warp coils glow inside the nacelles when the ship is at warp. I think on the movie version the secondary hull needed to be a little larger, it looks slightly out of proportion to the TOS Enterprise and the later refit.
