Russell T. Davies Returns to Doctor Who as New Showrunner

Going even further back, I'm trying to recall if John Hurt showing up as whoever was leaked before that cliffhanger.
Rumors that John Hurt would be playing the "real Ninth Doctor" were circulating as early as April 2013, a month before Name of the Doctor aired and confirmed it. I commented on the rumor in this post from April 2013.
We know that Sacha Dewan's Master came back
Back that truck up right now. They did try to keep Sacha Dewan a secret, even to the point of having people walking around him and keeping him covered by umbrellas when not filming. Unfortunately, one of the umbrella guys blabbed about his job, thereby leaking that spoiler.

How did I miss that?
It happened after the credits.

There were location photos of him at the Ten/Elizabeth wedding

Thank you for the refresher. I honestly couldn't remember because my memory is terrible.

In a Radio Times interview, Jamie Magnus Stone reveals that the last scenes they shot were in order, with the regeneration coming last, with out the new Doctor, and that that will be the last shot of the special.

Which seems confirmation from the lion’s mouth that there will be no other end of the regeneration in the Centenary special.

Also confirms
the regeneration will not happen inside the TARDIS.

I thought this would be the case.

They'd have had to
dismantle the set, transport it to Bad Wolf Studios, rebuild it for one scene/episode and then they'll "regenerate" it into a new interior anyway.

Eccleston's regeneration was shot without the new Doctor.

I must admit, I'm getting a bit fed up with the TARDIS interior changing every so often. Why couldn't Chibanddail keep the Smith/Capaldi interior for Jodie? What was so special about the Fortress of Solitude-esque set he'd done?

It represented… erm… I mean, because they had…

Nope.
Previous interior changes are usually only done because times and tech changes, whether the eighties ‘we know what computers look like now so let’s stick some in’ or the ‘we are filming in Vancouver’ or ‘the show is switching to HD with the new team’ or ‘turns out that HD set was a bit too much with all the reflections, and it’s anniversary time, time to go a bit retro’.

I still think the classic plain white with the central console is the best way to go. It feels far more alien to me than the pinball machine set ups for modern Who.

Isn't it funny that the best console room design, to me, of the last fifteen years is the Jo Martin console room? It's classic, simple, yet feels modern. It's what 1990s Star Trek production designer Herman Zimmermann would have designed if he'd worked on Doctor Who circa 1996. I could see Janeway or Sisko standing in that console room and not looking incongruous.

I also love the classic console room (and by extension, The Fugitive Doctor's, too), but at the same time, I quite love seeing the console room changing every so often. It keeps things fresh just like having a new Doctor, new companions, new title sequence, new logo. Distinctive era and all of that.

I think the smith/Capaldi was the best of the lot, because it combined past and present just right, and was visually interesting enough. It was a set you could actually use to do things. (Which the most recent one was a bit naff for let’s be honest. The walls were nice, but that’s handy because they didn’t have much else once we get past the monstrosity in the middle.)

The fugitive doctor set is ultimately still the sixties design, and is dated truth be told. It’s a bit too monochrome, which is a little ironic really.

I love all the console rooms, though the Jodie one is a bit naff but only because you can barely see what's going on. And it's a bit TOO organic - I know the fact that the TARDIS is alive is well established but it's a living machine.

The patchwork nature of the 2005+ consoles compared to the hi-tech (BBC Microcomputer!!) ones of the classic series kind of made sense since Gallifrey was gone and the Doctor was unable to source spare parts (I'm sure Drax and others did a roaring trade in supplying components to renegades - if not then the Doctor could always use his infrequent trips to Gallifrey to raid the tuck shop) and access the Eye of Harmony.
