Russell T. Davies Returns to Doctor Who as New Showrunner

I hadn't heard of it until now. I'll have to check it out for certain especially since it appears to be on Hulu.

The brief description on Wikipedia reminds me of Dead to Me in the sense it's a comedy thriller about two women who meet each other at crossroads in their lives but each have with secrets.

For those who haven't seen Am I being Unreasonable can I just say the Lenny is all kinds of awesome, I remember half wondering if he might end up on Who eventually so I am chuffed to bits about this.

Not only did he win a Bafta and two Royal Television Society awards for it, the series is semi-improvised so was capable of holding his own against established actors and comedians.

By all accounts the birthday wrapping paper moment was him improvising

Will this be the first time the Doctor has a teen companion who's actually a teen?

Deborah Watling! That's who I forgot. I also looked up Maureen O'Brien, Jackie Lane, Anneke WIlls, Wendy Padbury, and Sophie Aldred, but I figured they were in their 20s (and they were).

Nineteen still counts as a teenager.

Sarah Sutton was 18 when she filmed Keeper of Traken but turned 19 by the time it aired. There was a mini splash at the time due to having two such young companions at the same time.
Damn, I didn't think she was actually that young. Silly me.

The change in age is almost the same for Matthew. His first episode aired a couple of months before turning 19.

Well, no matter because Lenny Rush is considerably younger than all of them.

I wonder how many episodes he'll be in. His age and condition will likely limit how much time he can spend filming. Sure that's been taken into consideration mind.

Here's Lenny during last year's Children in Need. You might recognise the narrator. I think he did some Who once upon a time.

Another new outfit but don't worry Millie and Bonnie were dressed the same, so looks they're going undercover.

Who was that actor from the Star Wars prequel, who had raised the caliber of tons of movies from the 1950s and onward?

Oh, wait, an actor alone doesn't mean a story can be good, or elevating it. And the prequels had a lot of big-name actors being wasted.

(which isn't to say the return of the old fan favorites didn't have classics before... just like with the original Star Wars trilogy...)

What does that have to do with anything? Starkers is just pointing out the actor is good.

I literally have no idea what you're talking about. Star Wars? 1950s?
