Anita Dobson, best known as Angie in Eastenders (and as Brian May’s other half) has joined the show in an unknown role https://www.instagram.com/p/CnpKeFotLUh/?igshid=YmMyMTA2M2Y=
Not according to IMDb.She’s been in it before I think…
Yeah, but that's the trademark of the RTD era anyway? Big and bombastic?I'm relieved. While I love his quieter pieces (when they rarely appeared), he's often too loud and bombastic. I don't miss his music at all.
Turned out it was a Big Finish.
Yeah, I suppose but I keep hoping he's moved on from that...Yeah, but that's the trademark of the RTD era anyway? Big and bombastic?
Which is exactly where I first discovered her, long before The First Avenger.Well technically BBC Radio who commissioned it from them. It also starred Haley Atwell in one of, if not her first, professional acting roles.
I have my doubts that the Sarah Jane Adventures' composer's approach to Doctor Who would be too far afield from Murray Gold's.I'm relieved. While I love his quieter pieces (when they rarely appeared), he's often too loud and bombastic. I don't miss his music at all.
I was hoping Murray would come back, if only to complete the Series 10 soundtrack CD!
Doctor - Ah ah. Saviour of the universe!Maybe since his wife has been announced to be in the new series, the music will be by Brian May.
Also joining is Michelle Greenidge, who previously worked with RTD on It’s a Sin https://m.imdb.com/name/nm3382412/
Anita Dobson has incredibly never been in Doctor Who, but Leslie Grantham (her EastEnders screen husband) was in Resurrection of the Daleks.
I've said it before, but I'll repeat it anyway. Murray Gold did do some great stuff for Doctor Who back in the day. This is Gallifrey might be one of the best pieces of music done for television ever. And while he did provide some great stuff, it was clear by the end he was getting spent.* So I have no objection to bringing in someone new to do the music.
*Granted part of the problem in the later years was that whoever decided which music to use in the episodes for some reason kept selecting Gold's older works and actually ignored some of the newer stuff he did.
You can never have too much Gold.
