So, another attempt. This time as a kids film focusing on the FF's kids, because obviously that's what everyone has wanted. Forget making an actual good Fantastic Four movie, shoving out something for kids about kids might be profitable even if its garbage. I guess if they're going to shove out garbage just to keep the rights, they've decided to try a type of movie that doesn't need the general audience to like it, it just needs to keep the attention of little kids. I seriously doubt FOX has the ability to even do that, though.

Pure spite on Fox's part, and a futile attempt that won't get anywhere near a greenlight. Fantastic Four's deader than John Carter and the Lone Ranger; they've made the very property so toxic that no self-respecting director in Hollywood's going to go near it.

And to be brutally honest, Marvel doesn't even need the Fantastic Four anymore. Not in comics, not in movies.

They have proven to not be able to figure out how to do them properly so why not? Maybe something interesting could come out of it.

I don't think there's anything wrong with the idea of doing a story from Franklin & Valeria's perspective, but it wouldn't be my first choice for the starting point. The article mentioned The Incredibles, so now my big fear is that this is just end up being a bad Incredibles rip off.

I don't even like the Richards tykes in the comics, so there's little chance this will be something I want to watch. It's also Fox making a FF property, so there's even less chance it will be something I want to watch.

A good idea that will only work well if it's done with care and precision. Considering how awful their past three attempts have been, I doubt this fourth attempt will be any better and Fox will continue to blame the material and not their methods.

Yeah, regardless of wether you think the idea is good or not, this is FOX we're talking about. Even as someone who liked the first FF movie from the 2000s, I seriously doubt the people FOX have been using can make a good FF movie regardless of the premise.

How hard the f--k can it be to make a really good FF movie? There's a whole crap ton of great FF stories in the comics to adapt for a movie.

As an FF fan from WAY back - I really wish FOX would just let the rights lapse; but that ain't going to happen, I know. :(

There are tons of ways to do a good FF movie, but at this point I doubt Fox could find one.

I've been saying since before the first Fox film that F4 would be best suited to a retro-future 60s where they can embrace the cheese factor and go all-in on making it a Lee/Kirby comic come to life. I'm still convinced it is the way to go with the property, and giving it back to Marvel won't make that happen any sooner.

I think FF could be really good if it was done in the MCU style, which is why I wish Fox give up and let the rights go back to Marvel.

I was thinking something similar. The FF should stick to its 60's roots; and the kinds of stories for FF lend itself to making that fit in the MCU. What if we start in the 60's with the FF versus Doom in a full on time travel battle. They smash through the 70's; crash in the 80's; shatter against the 90's; land in the middle of the Battle of New York in a part we never saw; and finally get stranded in present day.

It could give a taste of every era with the time lost adversaries; and even though their battle would only last days to weeks from their perspective, the FF and Doom would in their brief flashes through history become a kind of modern day fairy tale or myth among the people who live in the Marvel U.

They could always throw Kang in there too if they're going to do time travel.

I really like the sound of those ideas. Pity it'll never happen.

Actually, is Kang an FF villain or an Avengers villain? I was thinking he was would be an FF villain since he's Reed and Sue's son (I think?), but then thinking about it more most of his stories I know of are Avengers stories.

He's not the Richards' son. He their distant descendant from the 30th Century. As Kang, he's an Avengers villain. Most of his schemes revolved around fighting them. As Rama Tut he fought the Fantastic Four. Though that was before Kang was introduced. Making Rama Tut and Kang ( as well as Immortus and the Scarlet Centurion) the same person is a retcon.
