I was talking about Pine not being a fresh faced kirk anymore now that he’s over 40. He’s going to be TWOK kirk in only a few short years. The last movie still showed him to be pretty immature though. The kirk of TOS took things pretty seriously most of the time at that point.

If they make a fourth Abrams Movie -- and I personally don't think they will -- then I'd peg Kirk as being not young/fresh-faced, but not "midlife-crisis" TWOK Kirk either.

In Star Trek Beyond, Kirk was already moving passed the "I'm a young buck!" phase and into something more mature. So a hypothetical fourth movie would continue that. Pine played a Kirk who just turned 30 in Star Trek Beyond. The character's age doesn't match the actor's. If a fourth movie gets made, I don't think they'll have it be "10 years later". I don't see it.
