In the course of many years, many 'rumored' episodes, or cameos, or plot turns, whatever kind of rumor you can think, have made being a TREK fan interesting, to say the least.

What was the most incredible rumor about anything TREK you have heard, but nothing ever came of it...but you wish something had???

Huh, I never heard that one before. Cool. For me? There was a Rumor out there that both Spock and Picard would show up on DS9's last episode. I thought that would have been cool..

Robin Williams very nearly got the role of Berlinghoff Rasmussen on TNG: A Matter of Time.

I recall from an interview someplace, they pursued Robert Ryan for Commodore Decker in TOS: The Doomsday Machine. Don't know whether he would've done TV.

That makes it sound like he got beat out--he wasn't available.

there was going to be a three-parter on TNG titled 'War' followed by an episode called 'Aftermath'. Dunno any more than that. iirc, this would've been in season 4 or 5...

Q had been considered to be used to resolve the Nazi cliffhanger on ENT.

ENT's "Future Tense" was originally going to have the ship that Archer encounters not be the timepod of a time traveler but the Defiant and hence the use of the Tholians but Sussman used this idea for IaMD.

Instead of Picard being assimilated on BoBW it would have been a Borg combo of Data and Picard.

The writers had wanted the final season of DS9 to be one long Final Chapter saga but the studio only gave them 10 episodes.

In "Anomaly", the pirates were going to be Orions.

In "Scorpion II", we would have learned that part of the reason that the Borg were being defeated was because of the destruction of the Queen in FC.

In season 7 of TNG, the writers had intended to revisit Hugh and the rogue Borg but it never materialized.

There was rumors of a 5th season TNG episode that would have centered on the crew involved an Olympic-like competition and Arnold was rumored to be considered to guest in it.

That's no rumor. Piller himself confirmed this as the original plan when he first sat down to write the story.

That Picard was going to die at the end of Best of Both Worlds. Wasn't sure I was willing to keep watching with Riker as the CO.

That Voyager was going to make it home in time to participate in The Dominion war. I was never a big VOY fan but that would have made for some nice cross over episodes.
