ROSWELL. Good show or not?

Any Rosewell fans here? Is this a good show? I saw the series on sale, and was thinking about getting it, but I wanted to know if it is worth checking out or not. Does it have a story arc or is it episodic? I heard that the series was cut short and ended at season 3. Did the series finale bring some closure?


I'm a fan of shows like Buffy, Angel, LOST and Supernatural.

If you like Buffy you may like it. Personally, I loved it. To me, it was a great series, there is a lot of high school drama though, so be prepared for angst and high school teenager craziness. Stuff does really pick up though in the later seasons, and we are rewarded with some good things. It did end early, but was given the chance to air a proper finale, and that is exactly what they did, so there is a finale that came later after it was canceled that ended it on a more proper note. It has more of a story arc in the later seasons for sure, and there is an overall arc.

I say give it a shot, especially if you can get it on sale.

It was a good character based show. It didn't focus heavy on the F/X so if that is an element you like this isn't a show for you. The first two seasons were great. The third, especially the last 10 episodes feel a bit rushed. However that is because they knew the show was not going to be renewed and were trying to give a conclusion to the show.

I liked it and am waiting to get it at a price I like on DVD.

Great show! One of my favorites.

If my memory is right, at the last minute the episode count for the last season was cut by 3 episodes. I am not sure whether this version of the last episodes had fully completed scripts. But they certainly had it mapped out that way. So they had to cut some ideas and condense things to fit the shortened season. I think they did a very good job considering that.

Originally they had planned a What-If style episode. My memory is hazy but it would show an alternate history in which Max had not healed Liz in the Pilot episode. When I get a chance I will dig up the Starlog issue that gave the details.

Yes it's good. Not seen it for years, it's not something I'd buy personally.
