Romulan's and the Borg

Since the blow was to transportation infrastructure, they can of course be either repaired, reconstructed or replaced entirely and the system rebuilt. Janeway saying the word "Crippling" obviously does not imply in any way that a new transwarp hub couldnt be built. They built the one that was there, why would they not be able to constuct another one?

I dont mind which species they have on as long as it is a good, well written story.
Again, personal interpretation. A "crippling blow" is not one I consider to be fully recoverable.

Again, I don't care for the Borg. They suck. They are overused boogiemen that are no longer scary. They were defeated again and again by an unsupported Starfleet ship. There is no reason to revisit them because they offer nothing new.

What happened to the future tech Voyager used? And the queen said she had assimilated some of the future tech before being destroyed. So did Janeway do the remaining Borg a huge favor then, if they weren't all destroyed?

Regardless, as I have stated repeatedly, the Borg are overdone and need a break. A long, long break.

Twenty years isn't enough?

Let's give TPTB a chance to do something new with them.

With Seven and Hugh in the cast there might be more emphasis on the liberated Borg who have continued living some kind of life that continues the use of their tech. The Borg Cooperative was encountered in VOY, Hugh and other liberated Borg might be part of that or have their own group.

The subtitle for the ship in the last episode identified this as a Romulan, not Borg, facility. A captured Cube? IDK. Are they building one? Given that they said reclamation, I am assuming this is a captured ship. Salvaged, stripped, studied, tech reverse engineered? Maybe it was in the Beta Quadrant near Romulan space when Voyager brought the transwarp network down and it therefore couldnt escape thru transwarp and the Romulans swarmed it? We'll see soon.

Seven of Nine is certainly a new wrinkle in the Borg narrative.
New? The character has been around since VOY. Plus Hugh already did the leave the Collective bit.

Now, can they do new stuff with these characters? It is possible, but that has less to do with Borg and more to with the characters. Maybe.

It's a change from Ye Olde "Borg menace Earth, Picard saves the day" narrative of years past. :shifty:

Yes and no. We have the Borg who left the collective done with both Hugh and Seven. Now, where that goes from here is, of course, anyone's guess.

But, past history with the Borg is not encouraging to me. It is not a race I want to revisit.
