About the only thing I can find off about Vader's armor is that the cap and chain are under his helmet for Rogue One, but around his neck over the helmet part in A New Hope. Maybe it come loose during the fighting and was suppose to be under his helmet, but after coming back to his Star Destoyer following the capture of Princess Leia, one of his troopers said "Hey Darth, that cape looks really wizard." And Vader decided to keep the look.

Because that's what he looks like in Star Wars.
Nope. in Rogue One his cape closes with a ^ at the base of his neck, meaning it hangs over his armor almost entirely and makes it look like it is coming out of his helmet. It pretty much entirely hides his chest armor.

His ANH cape attaches with a chain on the outside, with a broad upside down U shape flaring out to accentuate Prowse's broad build and show off the chest armor.

This is one of the main reasons his head doesn't look weird and oversized in the OT but does in several scenes of RO.

As for Tarkin, I read months ago that the artists at ILM were having great trouble recreating Cushing for the film as there are very few (if any shots) of his entire body in Hope due to him wearing bright pink fluffy slippers on set
Did he really? I never heard that before.

Saw the movie last night.
I loved the movie, I hoped that Bail had a bigger role in the planning of the attack in the rebel base.
I loved the Hammerhead ship, I miss KOTOR :)
I didn't expect that that everybody died of the team.
And I enjoyed it more than TFA.

Am I the only one thinking this movie suddenly puts Threepio's "here we go again." line from RotJ in a new context, considering they were about to do on Endor what Rogue One did on Scarif?

Overall it seems the reaction to the movie seems much more positive than even TFA and honestly, if the biggest criticism one can muster is "it's not perfect in every tiny detail!" then I think we have a bloody good movie on our hands and all those doomsayers who were wailing about the reshoots can just keep schtum. ;)

Details matter. TFA had a few annoying details. RO has a lot more. The good parts may be some of the best Star Wars ever, but the bad parts are pretty bad and the lacking plot and characters aren't able to gloss over those flaws like I feel TFA was able to for the most part. I'll be going back for another watch. I really wanted to like it and I still do. I watched it on a 70mm IMAX print and I wonder if that was part of why Tarkin and Leia looked so bad to me. Going to a normal theater for another shot may not help the pacing and plot problems, but here's hoping at least that is ironed out by the lower quality.

I saw it in a normal theatre. Tarkin looked pretty good for the most part. It's just every now and then, he'd make an expression that just made his entire face look...off.

However, I didn't notice it so much in his second appearance.

I'll have to watch it again to finialise my thoughts on it but I'm around the C+/B- region for the film. It wasn't bad but it wasn't great. I think as others have said it has a weak first third or so. It'll be interesting to see what scenes where cut assuming there is any on the BR/DVD release.

It's a very much better film than TFA, which despite a few good moments, and a promising new trio of main characters, I found pretty bad.

Rogue One has given me faith again.

Cushing hated the boots made for Tarkin's uniform. I do not remember the specifics. EIther the costume designer never got the time or chance to do a custom fitting on him or they did and it was not effective. He was misarable wearing them and it was too late to make replacements. So most shots of Tarkin were above the knees.

I thought Rogue One was kind of bland honestly. It's a mediocre movie.

The core characters of the film are kind of boring. Jyn Orso was disappointing.

Once the high wears off, people will look back at this movie and realize how mediocre it was.

Saw the movie last night, i thought it was really good besides the slow beginning, but once they get to Jedha it picks up...

Also the cape chain is only visible during the opening aboard the Tantive IV. Every other scene he is in the chain is hiddeen under the neck section, but then the neck part is also placed over the chest piece for the rest of the film it appears:

Saw it yesterday. Still replaying it in my head. This is the Star Wars film I've been waiting for since ESB. The score was the only thing I found wanting. It has it's moments, but those seemed to be call back to Williams' themes.
