Re: Robert e Howard,Edgar rice Burroughs & H.P.lovecraft comics & book

lol, yeah i don't get that last part. maybe someone should remind them of the contents of the book and all the Frazetta covers used to sell the books in the past.

Re: Robert e Howard,Edgar rice Burroughs & H.P.lovecraft comics & book

Re: Robert e Howard,Edgar rice Burroughs & H.P.lovecraft comics & book

Looks like ERB INC is finally putting the hammer down on Dynamite's unauthorized use the Burrourghs characters.
Without getting into the merits of the case, I found this amusing.
Presumably to bolster its claim of "irreparable injury," ERB Inc. takes specific issue with some of the covers and interior art for "Warlord of Mars: Dejah Thoris," insisting they "border on (and in some cases are) pornographic": "On some covers -- covers which defendants refer to as "Risque Nude" exclusive covers -- Dejah Thoris appears topless."
Have they even read these books? The characters run around naked on Mars all the time.
I missed that when I skimmed the story on one of the comic news sites, it's kinda funny if you ask me.:wtf:

I have been enjoying Red Sonja, the latest arc was a lot of fun. The mirror Sonja made for a fun fight. Queen Sonja has been enjoyable as well.

Re: Robert e Howard,Edgar rice Burroughs & H.P.lovecraft comics & book

Just finished The Land that Time Forgot and The People that Time Forgot. Not sure whether or not to read Out of Time's Abyss, but I suppose I probably will; I just hope there's a large payoff, and not just another random Caspak story. :p

Don't know if anyone's mentioned it, but you'll find graphic novel adaptations of "At The Mountains Of Madness" and "A Princess Of Mars" as well as other classics here:

http://strangeplanetstories.blogspot.com/

I've seen both at the local Barnes and Nobles, and have flipped through them. I will take this version of Mars over the IDW stuff any day. It appears to be the most faithful version so far, and looks closer to what would've been done then, what with Dejah Thoris looking somewhat Egyptian. And yes, she's naked throughout the book. The art style is simple, but elegant.

"At The Mountains Of Madness" has a somewhat cartoon like quality, yet it too is of the simple and elegant kind. And like "A Princess Of Mars", it is very faithful to the source material.

It looks like they all have the same artist, which is amazing given the differences in style between just these two books....I'm amazed at how this person was able to churn out several graphic novels, but there it is.

At any rate, I plan on picking these two up in the near future.

Win. Peter Jackson circa pre-production on King Kong, take note. That woman's nightie wouldn't last five minutes in the jungle. :p
