Professional wrestlers are probably the most underrated and underappreciated athletes in the world today, at least to the non-fans out there that think it is all just another form of play-acting.

The staggering amount of abuse that these men and women put themselves through....

And that's just from Vince and Stephanie!

Only half kidding.

He even had a convention-exclusive G.I. Joe figure made with his likeness for the 25th Anniversary of the modern Joe action figures in 2007. He's one of the rarer and more expensive of modern G.I. Joe action figures on eBay.

I hadn't thought of him in a long time until about six weeks ago when he showed up on the Adam Carolla podcast, and the a few weeks go on the Sklarbro Country podcast. Such a kind and funny guy who can really tell a story.

As I've heard it remarked, They Live's fight scene goes on so long it almost makes a point. I'd say it does make a point but then I love that film, and Piper was perfect in the role. I'm still surprised he didn't have a more high profile film career. As with a lot of wrestlers he had not only a great physicality but a wonderful onscreen chemistry as well.
