This article is much better than the one from the AP that I read, where the author went out of his way to include many references to how ugly Postlethwaite was.

One of those who always give a good performance, no matter what the role/movie.

He should have won the Oscar for In the Name of the Father. Tommy Lee Jones' role in The Fugitive was fun, but that was all it was. Postlethwaite's role was far deeper, more emotional and more three-dimensional. Moreover, he fooled lots of Irish people into thinking he really was from Belfast - few English actors can do this.
