Can't believe she was 85. In my mind, the actors are only as old as they were in the last episode I saw the in, so in her case (Voy: Flashback) she's only in her late 50's

Her life should be an inspiration to anyone who has had to battle personal demons that you can come out on top in the end.

    RIP

RIP, Grace. As a young boy, you were one of my first TV crushes.

I had the chance to meet her at a convention in Sacramento, 2002.

She was delightful, generous with her time. She seemed to be one of those actors who really enjoyed meeting the fans.

    RIP.

She was one of the first actors I "connected" between two shows as a young kid: Star Trek and Batman. She had such a natural and un-forced presence, and she was great at comic moments. Very sorry to learn of her passing.

Nice to see that even the mainstream news sources are taking note of her passing.

It is sad to see so many of the old guard passing away. Sad news. My condolences to her family and friends.

If she was 85 at the moment she passed then she was a lot older than just late fifties when she appeared in Flashback! She was probably sixty six or sixty seven as that episode was almost twenty years ago wasn't it!

Whoops that was a typo. We still have William Shatner, Nichelle Nichols, Walter Koenig, George Takei and a slew of guest stars and extras that are still alive. Odds are they will still be around by Sept 2016 which in the actual 50th anniversary. I hope they are all still here.

I never got the chance to meet her. I wish I had. She seemed like such a fantastic lady to the fans.

As a young kid, Charlie X was a lesson on how not to win a girl's heart. Janice was hot in that pink nighty. RIP Ms Whitney.

Another original gone. Only 13 episodes and through no fault of her own cut so the captain can be free to pursue more women. What a poor 1960s decision. RIP

I read her autobiography not too many months ago. I found it very interesting, and inspirational. I recommend it to anyone who has had to battle depression, assault and/or addiction. She was a remarkably brave woman.
