RIP Grace Lee Whitney

Still waiting to see some confirmation, as only two sites thus far report this. As I wrote in the thread about this in General Trek, I just called her house and found her son's voice on her voicemail, asking people to call him for updates. I left a message there, but said I wasn't a priority for him to call back.
 
3 sites now, no major news outlets yet..according to some sources, she was largely responsible for the female uniforms in TOS (she wanted to show off her legs).

This year is turning out to be a bad one for TOS fans..but time marches on..

Her Wiki page has been updated, but the cited source is the one linked in the OP.
 
IMBD has updated her entry now, So has Wikipedia..Memory Alpha... It appears to be legit..
 
Those are user-editable sites, so just about anyone with the right kind of account can change them.
 
I have to wonder how much coverage could be expected for this in the genera media...she wasn't as well-known as Nimoy.
 
Well, yes. But if true it'll eventually hit the wire services and it'll be all over the web.
 
CBS47 Fresno has it on their Facebook page. I believe they're also the ones who own the yourcentralvalley.com news site.

So if it's true, and it seems that it is, then I offer my condolences to her family, and may she rest in peace.
 
I have no real reason to doubt this, but, yes, all you need is one report and it can spread across editable sites like IMBD or Wikipedia like wildfire, so that it seems as though multiple sources are confirming the news, but, really, they're all just propagating the same original report . . ..
 
The reason I think it's legit is because it's a Fresno news station, and they stated that her family informed them of the news. I believe she lived in the Fresno, CA area, so it would make sense they got the news first. I imagine in a few hours, more will know.
