Spoilers Rings of Power Season 2 Rating and Review and Discussion Thread: Spoilers inside.

Damn, that was one hell of an episode.
The battle stuff was fantastic, easily one of the best battles ever produced for TV.
Poor Celebrimbor, he really went through hell this week.
After him being sneaky about his manipulations and evil, it was interesting to see Sauron go full on openly Dark Lord.
So it looks like Sauron set up everything with Durin III getting the ring, so the dwarves wouldn't be able to help the elves.
Arondir's death wasn't to much of a surprise, he didn't really have much of a role left now that Browyn is dead and they resolved things between him and Theo. I didn't go into this expecting him to die, but it made sense they'd want to give us a major death in the battle, and he was the most obvious choice.
I'm curious how Sauron is going to end up with the nine rings, since we know he has to at some point.

There is going to be a lot of ring exchanges.
Galadriel has the Nine.
Adar has Nenya, which has to go back to Galadriel.

I found it interesting, that Sauron literally infused the Nine with what passes for his blood.
And those rings are closest to the One in their effect.
We could hear the ring whispers when Celebrimbor was holding them.
That makes me worried for Galadriel who stashed them away very close to her heart.
All 9 of them!
If she walks away from that unaffected I would be very surprised.

So, will Sauron craft the One completely on his own?
He seemed to actually rely on Celebrimbor’s skills and knowledge to make the others.
How will he become able to create he most powerful ring of them all on his own?

He seemed to be working with Celebrimbor quite a bit on the seven rings, so he might have picked up enough enough skills to make The One Ring himself.

"But they were all of them deceived, for another ring was made. Deep in the land of Mordor, in the fires of Mount Doom, the Dark Lord Sauron forged a master ring, and into this ring he poured his cruelty, his malice and his will to dominate all life.

One ring to rule them all."

This episode was the best yet. I see many agree. The unexpected brutality was excellent. Even if you don't care for the show that much, episode 7 of season 2 is like a mini film and well worth the watch.

An intriguing meme addressing one aspect of episode 7 ....

Of course I may be wrong, but I took the kiss to be meant a distraction from handing Galadriel the lock pick tool.
Excuse me while I go look up the family trees of Elrond and Galadriel.
Only a fairly distant blood relation between them (Galadriel's father, Finarfin, was the younger brother of Elrond's great-great-grandfather, Fingolfin), but if that was intended to be romantic and not just a distraction then that will make things awkward later down the line for a different reason.

I'm wondering if Arondir possibly departing might open up a role for Glorfindel to appear in subsequent seasons. It seemed like Tolkien ultimately settled on the act of Sauron crafting the One Ring is when Glorfindel was sent back to Middle Earth/reincarnated.

I also forgot to say I really liked the Sauron scenes in Eregion. From casually flicking Mirdania off the walls to her death just to further turn the soldiers against Celebrimbor to the show-down with the soldiers with him where you see Sauron's control. How his presence in the city, the soldiers relying on him and trusting him let him 'get inside' and be able to control them as puppets.

Yeah, this was the first time we really saw Sauron going full on evil Dark Lord, and Charlie Vickers was great. Up to this point we've only really seen him as the charming manipulator, so it was interesting to see him drop the act and show us the real Sauron.

I only watched the first season so far, so... who was the Sauron out of the dozen potential-and-fake-Saurons?
