Ridley Scott Making "Brave New World"

Clue makes more sense to me than a Monopoly film, since it has as close to a narrative structure as you're likely to get with a simple board game that is popular. That's probably why there is talk of remaking Clue. I know, yuck.

I'm happy to see Brave New World (and the Alien prequel) move forward, though. Scott has been away from the science fiction genre for too long (arguably producing two of the most influential films in the genre).

No matter how Scott's version turns out, I'm sure it'll be better than the atrocious "Farenheit 451" of 1966
Heresy! Heresy, I say!

Actually I think it's a movie about the man who invented Monopoly, not about the actual game itself.

I could see a movie about Monopoly working. It could be about a group of rich guys who roll into Atlantic City, start buying up large portions of property, and then with each other over for certain monopolies.

Ridley Scott and DiCaprio's Brave New World finds writer

This is from September but no one has mentioned it yet.
Variety reports that screenwriter Farad Safinia, who also scripted Mel Gibson’s Apocalypto, is on board to write a first draft. Apocalypto is Farad Safinia's only major film credit to date.
Brave New World has never been filmed for the big screen before, but was turned into a TV movie starring Leonard Nimoy and Peter Gallagher in 1998.

Is the TV movie available anywhere on DVD for purchase?

Here is an older one from 1980:
Brave New World (1980) (TV) which starred Keir Dullea (of 2001: A Space Odyssey) & Bud Cort

and the Leonard Nimoy & Peter Gallagher one:
Brave New World (1998) (TV)

Both shot in 35mm and both are not available on DVD according to imdb.com.
