Rey in The Force Awakens (Possible Spoilers)

Captain Nebula

Commander
Red Shirt
So, is Rey (Daisy Ridley's character in The Force Awakens), Han and Leia's daughter? There seem to have been hints to this in one of the trailers when asked her name, she says 'It's Classified'.

Also, if we're seeing Kylo Ren in this movie, will we see Kylo Stimpy in another? Always two there are...

;)

I have to say that Kylo Ren is one of the worst names for a villain ever.

Rey also says in an earlier trailer that she "also knows what it's like to wait; waiting for my family." There's no reason to bring up waiting for her family to return for her unless it plays a role in the film.

She and Leia share a meaningful glance at each other before Rey embarks on the Millennium Falcon in the latest international trailer.

Harrison Ford accidentally tweeted a spoiler about Rey and Kylo Ren lightsaber dueling.

An action figure leaked early showing Rey with Anakin's/Luke's lightsaber.

A collectible card game showed her alignment as "Jedi."

A Duracell battery commercial showed a little girl dressed as Rey using Force powers.

Daisy Ridley's stunt double is a world champion martial artist and sword/bo-staff fighter.

So it's safe to say she has Force powers, which when combined with the other hints makes it likely she's of the Skywalker/Solo bloodline.

Kylo Ren may also be her brother, hence his reluctance to kill her when he puts the lightsaber to her neck.

Chewie takes up protecting her and acting as her co-pilot on the Falcon, like he did with Han, in behind-the-scenes photos.

Ren is not his name, it's a title, like Darth. He's part of a group of Dark Side Force users called The Knights of Ren.

I think Kylo Ren fits in perfectly with the rest of the kinds of names we get in SW. I don't see where it's any worse than names like Luke Skywalker, or Han Solo.
As for Rey, I've been pretty sure she's a Skywalker since Daisy Ridley was cast, but at this point there's only probably a few hundred people who know, and none of them are going to talk until Friday, at which point it will become common knowledge.
EDIT: Have they said all Knights of Ren are Force users? I've been wondering if (maybe) Rey, (maybe) Finn, Snoke, Kylo and Luke are the only Force users in the galaxy.

Worse than Darth Sidious? Darth Tyranus? General Grievous?

Actually, I remember when Lucasfilm released the opening crawl to ROTS in the winter 2005. Even though it was posted on the official Star Wars website, everyone assumed it was fake because "there's no way the movie actually has a character named General Grievous." I was the one who actually revealed Grievous was legit by posting a link to a website showing the action figure of him.

When I hear Kylo Ren I sometimes think Kybo Ren; Not as much these days, thank goodness and hopefully one day not at all.

Is the Droids cartoon canon?

Is Kybo a Knight of Ren?

Count Dooku?

I remember people whining about Dooku's name sounding scatological, not realizing that it was derived from the Japanese word for "poison."

Really, lots of names in Star Wars sound cheesy or nonsensical to our ears. That's part of its otherworldly charm.

If she's anyone's daughter I think it would have to be Luke's, since I can't imagine any circumstances under which Han or Leia would have a daughter who was then somehow left to fend for herself as a scavenger on a desert planet.

At least with Luke you can kind of imagine that he hooked up with someone who never told him she was pregnant, or that he decided his daughter would be in too much danger around him or too much of a target for the Empire.

"I've seen your eyes.... I know your eyes!" - Maz Kanata

BTW, I think she is repeating what BB-8 tells her when she asks it what its mission is:
"Beep bip boop." - BB8
"It's classified?" - Rey

That reminds me, did they ever decide on a gender for BB-8? I read an article a while back that said there was some confusion over whether BB-8 was male or female.
EDIT: I should have searched before I asked. I found an article on EW.com that said that BB-8 was originally going to be female, but ended up male.

What an odd issue. Do droids even have genders? Sure, C-3PO has a masculine voice, but does that make him "male?" Does R2 have a gender, or any of the other astromech droids? What about the pit droids at the pod race?

This whole thing is just reminding me of the Futurama episode where Bender got a sex change.

Count Dooku?

I always assumed "Count Dooku" derived from "Count Dracula." Like George Lucas sat around and said, "I want Christopher Lee, so let me come up with something that sounds like 'Count Dracula' but isn't."

The film doesn't say who Rey's family is, but based on Rey's interactions with Kylo, Han and Leia, I think it's safe to say she's not a Solo. I highly suspect she's Luke's daughter and that's something we'll discover for certain at the beginning of the next film. In fact, I fully expected Luke to confirm it during their encounter at the end, but they didn't exchange any words.

Seems like she doesn't remember her family at all, even though she looked old enough too. Seems a bit dickish if it is Luke's daughter to have left her on Tatooine lite.

If they rehash Empire Strikes Back like they did Star Wars then I could envision a scenario where Kylo Ren is fighting Rey and reveals Luke is her father lol.
