Restoring TAS

Lots of work, but has one every considered changing TAS music to TOS music? Replace the opening and closing music with Courage's,etc.

I'm too attached to TAS as it really is. You can't recapture your childhood if it's been "fixed" beyond recognition.

Also, I don't think the separate dialog tracks still exist as such. And if they did, along with replacing the music, you'd have to replace the sound fx (i.e., make a whole new music and fx track).

They couldn't simply do an all-out CGI remake of TAS, but keep the original soundtrack (dialogue and effects)? That's something I'd like to see.

The separate DMEs (dialogue/music/effects) tracks exist for most of the episodes. This is what I used to reconstruct the music for the 50th Anniversary album, still available from La-La Land Records (cheap plug).

I've seen TAS and the storylines are well above average, especially for the era and audience deemed "appropriate" for what was deemed "a cartoon".

The original animation was on even a tighter budget than TOS-live action. I don't dislike the idea of CGI or at leas that they did for Doctor Who's missing episodes. At least for the characters, the background 'sets' did look decent...

The theme music, et al, might be nicer to have...

And this may sound terrible but what about autotune top slightly nudge voices? It's been a not uncommon critique from people that the cast weren't used to voiceover animation... then again, autotune quickly turns voice into what sounds like drunken cybermen so maybe not... the voiceovers aren't exactly bad to begin with.

Sorry, I don't follow.
Well, I agree with you and J.T.B. that what was being proposed was not a restoration, but a re-imagining of sorts, so “restoration” is probably not the best term. Since ‘tis the season, I remembered this title card:
7FC67E54-3299-4315-A267-7BC31BD91DDF.jpeg
Which is an odd use of the word “blandishment”, to be sure. Google revealed a number of theories about this phrase, but this one is as good as any.

Sometimes the ways of my mind are often dark and never pleasant, and my tries are outside the lines.

Amazing CG animation would only draw attention to the terrible voice acting. TAS works best as it is. The shitty animation and extremely dodgy voice acting go well together.

And I say this as a fan of TAS.

BTW, I like the soundtrack as-is.

The only real faults with the show were the odd mistakes in the costume department or like TOS itself the reverse image look which happened occasionly!
