"Resting" the Daleks

To be honest its a long time coming, im glad they are getting a rest for a couple of seasons.

I would like to see some other "old" monsters come back that haven't been yet and also would love them to make the Autons as scary as they used to be with the troll.

I think they're going to have a RTD Dalek vs Power Ranger Daleks. Which is too big for one episode when Moffat seems determined to use his own stuff.

I don't think Moffat ever really wanted the Daleks back under his reign but the BBC seemingly pressured the return of them and the new look to push merchandise. I don't think we will ever see them return under Moffat's era and really they should only come back in full force when we have a return of the timelords.

Moffat seems to be walking back the "for a while" comment on Twitter. Quoth the Moff: "Daleks: I was talking about THIS series. Stand down."

LOL, I was just about to repost what I said on Facebook, that I bet he just means they won't be in the second half of this season either, and would be in the Xmas Special... and it seems he agrees!

Maybe it was just me but the way the new Daleks were introduced felt like the debut of new cars at a car show.

Having an office basement that they'd barely made any effort to make not look like an office basement as their spaceship didn't help either.

incidentally, if you read it in the original interview, in today's Radio Times, it's clear he's talking about just season 6.

I really liked the newest doctor's Delek story from World World 2, it was a lot of fun.

That and I liked that Steven Moffat did away with RTD's Dalek's and created his own. All though they have only been seen once since then but who knows what the future holds.

A bit of a shame he caved on his original comment. I like the idea of them turning up every few years as a surprise with a truly epic story rather than their annual 'contractural obligation' appearances of the past few years.
