"Resting" the Daleks

The Daleks were used eight times (not counting the Five Doctors cameo) in twenty years. They went five years between appearances during Tom Baker's reign, Baker only facing them twice, and the three eighties Doctors only facing them once each. It's really nothing new to rest them periodically.

Wasn't one of the reasons the Daleks were so scarce back then becasue Terry Nation was being a bitch? It's possible if he were more cooperative, we'd have seen them more often.

Maybe if VOY had taken the same approach with The Borg that character would still be interesting.

No, because then there never would have been Voctory of the Daleks or Daleks in Manhatten.

Possibly, but with respect that's kind of beside the point. The series doesn't need the Daleks. It survived without them for a long time, and their appearances throughout the '70s and '80s were all the more special and anticipated due to being so scarce.

Well yes, but I was refering to classic Who where they didn't show up for years at a time

the daleks are cool.. but the current series needs to do something with them later.. and do some sets that look like the adventures game on skarro, now that was sweet!
