Resolutions

Well that's the TOS era that gave us poodles with horns. Anyone remember ANY real animals in TNG that were modified?

the Russian wild boar named Emmy Lou that appeared as Worf's pet Targ in "Where No One Has Gone Before."

That Pillow Talk video is hilarious. One of the best videos I've seen and I'm not not even a JCer. Thanks for posting JanewayRulz.

The whole point of all these videos is.. the Janeway part :D

SHIP HER WITH EVERYONE!!!!

I have weird ideas after waking from a nap-- Voyager as I Love Lucy-- Janeway as Lucy, Chakotay as Ricky, the Doctor as Fred Mertz, and Seven of Nine as Ethel. The crazy redhead in outer space!

I like yours better. But Neelix as Fred and Tuvok as Ethel might be an interesting mix as the bickering pair. With Tuvok-Ethel as Seven-Lucy's reluctant partner in schemes.

Resolutions means determining a conclusion, but resolute means becoming determined or adamant.

I suppose since resolutions is the past tense of Resolute, one is about how you get somewhere and the other is a statement that you are there, right?

Was she resolutely keeping her legs crossed the whole time which is the final return on their resolution?

The Voyager crew timetraveling into the 1940s or 1950s are going to look like fricking aliens in even the most period correct costumes because they are not chain smoking.

Imagine the Doctor having to invent a noncarcinogenic cigarette to perfectly effect the disguise of the 20th century hoi polloi.

The days when women worried whether the seams of their nylon stockings were straight.

Painting their legs with coffee and then making a line down their calves with an eyeliner pencil.

Bitches be crazy.

KES: I wanted to talk to you about Tuvix. He came to see me this afternoon.
JANEWAY: Oh? , etc....

I'm very late to the game, but I think that you alone have at least hinted at the crux of what made Resolutions such a crucial episode. It clearly and unequivocally displayed Kes' power to win friends and influence people. Bend an inflexible Vulcan to her will? No problem.

And remember, it was for the good of the crew and the mission. So she busted up....something? Meh. The needs of the many outweighed the needs of those two. :guffaw:

Is that because of the extra Rikers, or the extra Pulaskis...

Waitaminute?!

Those clones Riker murdered were adult sized.

If you're building a society that passes it's ideals onto it's children then surely you want babies to be churned out on the other side of the cloning process?

What sort of stupid world do they have were every one starts off as a 35 year old person with a completely intact 35 year old brain?

No families!

But it explains the problem of replicative fading after just 300 years if the average human lifespan is 120 years...

Although think how easy medicine is if there are only 5 bodies with identical genetic potentials and dormant timebombs.

Thomas was sort of a clone too. I wonder why Riker didn't kill him the way he mindlessly killed his other clone...

I can definitely see how their friendship could easily turn to romance but throughout the episode Janeway is so intent on finding a cure so she can get back to Voyager, and possibly return home to Mark. She still hasn't let him go so I don't think anything would have happened between them unless she had completely given up. From what I can tell based on what little I've seen of Voyager so far, is that Chakotay has feelings for Janeway but she doesn't return them.

You don't spend a... I suppose with a phaser, making that recess bath would have taken half an hour.

But with a shovel that would have been a 3 day job, and then another day to make it look fancy.

I'm not saying that because she wasn't going to sleep with him that he was going to be awful to her, it's just platonic relationships are geometrically smaller than romantic relationships, so if Janeway made it clear that she wasn't interested, then the Captain might as well have been Tuvok.

Would Chakotay have given a married man a bathtub and neck rubs?

I don't know. The bathtub looked really fancy, like it was carved in hard rock and then polished to a shine. It would take a lifetime for a man to do that without proper tools or a phaser.

Maybe Chak really likes baths himself. Maybe he felt the one thing that would help him cope with being stuck on this planet was a long hot soak in a tub. Maybe it was like how when you cook something really delicious for yourself and then someone you want to like you sees it and acts like it's amazing so you say "YES I HAVE MADE THIS FOR YOU" because, brownie points. And unlike the food he gets to use the bath anyway.

I can see the survival kit having a bottomless tin can, that is the simplest version of a replicator possible because all it makes is water, but how do they get rid of the old bath water, what sort of drainage are we talking about, and if it's packed earth how do you clean it, because as close as he wants to be with her, does she want to share the water he cleans his bum in?
