Request finding or making a ship Design... Proposed E-F

Sorry, but all these designs look too much like the Sovereign class with just a few differences, and the Legacy class just looks like a Sovereign mixed with an Intrepid. That's not original. The Enterprise-F should look as different from the Enterprise-E as the Enterprise-E looks from the Enterprise-D.

Agrees 100%... Enough Sovereign tweaks.

I also agree with a previous poster that the next Enterprise needs a neck - even if it isn't as tall as the Ent-D. The argument that a neck is vulnerable doesn't make much sense, because then all we'd have is the Defiant. Ugh.

I personally would like to see the next Enterprise have a completely circular saucer, like the Enterprise A/B/C(?). The Excelsior/Ent-B is my favorite Trek design, so something along those lines updated to the post-Sovereign era would be neat I think.

Yeah, circular saucer, with an organic design ethic to seperate it from the edgy angles of the Ent-E. Stick a neck in to add some vertical presence, add a bit of width and make the saucer circular. Very organic flow, maybe have a design style influenced by aquatic life, there's a lot of cool shapes there that would look groovy as part of a starship.

@Miraclefan, my ship? no none of these are mine, unless you took everything I said and visualized my Sovy inspired ship lol
the Granduer is Vektors....

uhmmm yeah, other than basic design cues in shape, thease ships look little like the E, of course,
I Love the Sovy so figures I'd notice the details

now see I think while the circular saucer shouldn't be phased out, that it just doesn't look as good in making the design, sleek and
"fast looking", which to me is a very nice touch, plus with the elongated saucer, it's easier to squeeze in that extra intererior volume
witout worrying about the saucer being to big in comparison...

now, I do think for nostalga the Enterprise should always have a circular-bases/oval, rounded primary hull,
no arrow-heads,spheres ect.... now I liked how even though the Sovy had a sovy shaped saucer, from the front, it still looked like a huge
circular presence, I think the front is the SOvy's best anle, the side being the second.

and eww, no, then we'd end up with the J, I suppose those design features could work but.....

it better not come out looking like the , maybe if the had decent sized nacells, an actaul engineering
section, rotated the saucer 90 degrees, made it perhaps a little shorter, maybe give it a little width ,

oh and a new texture, that texture seemed last minute to me, and wheres the windows? or phaser arrays...

Again, it looks like the Sovereign Class, only a bit flatter.

Don't get me wrong. I have the utmost respect for all the artists who have the talent to draw these ships. I certainly don't have the talent for that, unless it's a pencil drawing :) My point was that people need to be a little more original in their Ent-F designs. Just Google "Enterprise-F" or "NCC-1701-F" and you'll see a ton of designs that have the Sovereign aesthetic. If the Enterprise-E is in service for the next 25 to 50 years, the next vessel to be christened should be that far in advance of any ship built in the 2380's.

Agreed:vulcan:

Excalibur is cool but the nacelles need to be raised for that "Enterprise" look

as for the time period, I get what your seeing although I wonder, until we see bio-organic hulls or something completely new, that looks decent, I think there's only so much we can do at this point... without making her completely unrecognizable let alone making it look more advanced than say the Sovy, which I love but will admit, maybe it was a little to soon for her style... as streamlined as she is...

anything without that sleek look just looks old...

Original Design: Atolm

You'll see terms like "original" and "I've never seen anything like that before" assigned to Atolm's designs more than anyone else's.

I too think that the Enterprise should be tall. I might be the only one here, but I think the Sovy, as a design not the execution, sucks.

And all I ask is a tall ship and a star to steer her by

Yeah, Atolm's Chariot-Class is a great start for an Ent-F, methinks. The verticality is really distinctive. I'd ditch the Sovereign-style triangle-y styling cues though. The Ent-F has got to have it's own design look. I'm thinking the pseudo-organic gillfish style that can be seen in a lot of other of Atolm's designs.

I'd love to see a new ship inspired by the Excelsior as well. That class was elegant in the sense that it had clean lines and few superfluous curves.

I love that bottom fin/mast a lot! And the "sideways" nacelles! But not the bridge bulge at the front of the saucer or the very top-heavyness.
When I was a kid, my dad and I always laughed at the Constitution class's nacelles because they were so high, the ship obviously could never fly in a straight line. The Galaxy class fixed this by having the nacelles close to the vertical center of mass (well...in the docked configuration at least).

The Sovereign is a great design, such that tweaks start to draw away from it.
The Sovereign would have been ten times better if the bottom of the saucer wasn't almost in the path of the main deflector.

uh, it's not lol, it's allot close than most but doesn't cover it up at all...
Keep in mind that the navigational deflector has to work in three dimensions. There needs to be some vertical freedom for the beam to be angled both up and down.
