ok, I've seen the Century class and it's not bad, it's actually pretty neat, although it doesn't say Enterprise F to me, also, I don't care much for the segmented deflector dish...and the nacels should be raised, like a Connie or Sovy, actually I really like the Sovy, and would love to see a design incorporating many of it's aspects, sleek, with a Sovy like deflector dish, that nice Quantum Turret in a same or simular place, the shuttlbay on the rear like the Connie was nice... it would be nice if it had the the huge saucer/intimidation look the E has from the front, the swept back nacels, and none of that has no engineering section , all Enterpeises have had a full engineering section, not half down like the Excalibur class (which isn't bad but still no F IMO) or those Sovy based Nebulae concepts....

I think the Century doesn't look intimidating enough for a flagship, diplomatic isn't bad but not only does it not look as good that way IMO, it going for less tecture and smoothed out like the , which I hated... also the Century looks to be about the same size, one thing I found surprising with the E as that it was only a little longer than the D, and oversall, smaller, which isn't surprising considering changing times with the Borg,Dominion and other threats, but you'd think the Century would be bigger than the E but its not, and it seems to me that other than shape and the deflector, little has really been changed, then looks can be decieving, but you'd think with the threat of the Romulans producing Scimitars (without the Thaleron(sp) weapon off course), Dominion Battleships (which are what 4000 meters?, and they have many don't they) you'd think Starfleet would make a bigger ship, now it doesn't have to be 4000 meters by any means, but you can only fit so much on a hull, when you have like 20 distrupters and 30 torpedo tubes or the like, how do you really combot that kind of thing?, yeah you can make a bunch of smaller ships, but eventually your goin to need some heavy hitters, and looking at the SOvy, it's got so much crammed into it already, I mean it only has 24 decks, you'd think the F would be a bit bigger, not the same size, you know? Starfleet isn't warlike, but I think they'd be forced to step up their offensive capabilities like they had to with the Sovy...

I could see a smaller deflector on the top of the saucer section like voyager had... for future slipstream (which has to have 3 segments to a dflector right? or 8 hexagonal ones?)they mentioned that, conveinent for voyager huh?

but anyway enough of my thoughts on this, anywhere I could find a design like this? a Sovy like design thats a bit bigger, and has the nice little tributes like the rear engineering shuttlebay... aand what do you think?

The Sovereign was a much slimmer ship because it was built in the later years of the Dominion wars. The ship layout of a possible Ent-F would probably be similar to the Sovereign. My favorite possible Ent-F design is the Perception class. (Search Deviantart for it)

[IMG] HOW about this bad boy? it was designed by Josheua Samuelson and he calls it the PERCEPTION Class. For bigger views go to www.treknology.org and look for it under new arivels

Got any views of that BEAUTY from ABOVE & BELOW?:techman: And any idea how big it is? It it like the size of the Galaxy or sovereign:confused: Sorry for asking all these questions, but when I see a new ship I want to know everything about it:D

I'm really not a fan of the neckless designs. I'd rather have something more along the lines of Vektor's Grandeur, but maybe upsized and of course restreamlined for the size differences.

I'd agree with that. The Enterprise needs vertical bulk added back on for future designs. Look how the Enterprise-D looks in Generations compared with the Enterprise-E First Contact/Insurrection/Nemesis. The D fills up more of the frame horizantally and vertically and has more presence.

The Grandeur would make an amazing Enterprise-F.

Pretty cool design. I would have engineering section little longer.

thanks for the links guys, the Premonition has allot of potential (so does the Legacy), allthouh I'm not so sure about the deflector dish ( I really really like the E's xd) the saucer seems a bit to round, not as elongated towards the front as the Sovy, which looked fast doing nothing, thease ships look like they could do that as well but and I mean this quite a bit here, while they look good in 2D, I need to see 3D versions them before I can really voice a final opinion...

for example, I was looking at the Sovy blue prints, and on the blueprints the Engineering section looks much much wider not the sleek skinny appearence you have on screen which I'm thinking is do to the recessed area around the dflecter, if this is the case, I must say, very clever Eaves...

now from the front the Premonition looks like the nacles are a fit fat, cause you see the bussard collecters and all around it (haven't had allot of look at the Legacy's nacelles) you spot the exterior of the nacelle, I think its hard cause if it wasn't it would look like a primative forward naccell, but if it was segmented, in half like the Sovy or you had some detail like the Grandeur, I think it would look allot better

I haven't seen Legacy's deflector head on, but what I thought was the deflecter at first, those lines on the front of the secondary hull, turned out not to be...

I think the legacy might suffer more of the too-circular of a primary full syndrome more so than the Perception, not as for the nacelle struts, I've always preferred the shaper angle ones like the E had, a tribute to Kirks, however, the Premonitions gradually curved ones are growing on me, I think I could get used to them..

as for the Leacy, this is hard because I think it's hard to tell via 2D, I think the inverted nacelles while, interesting, may end up hurtingg her, I think if they where swept back they would look much nicer I think I prefer the bussard collector on the Leacy thouh cause it has more detail but over all naccell design I'd probably give to the Perception

I think they are both done well, even though I think the forward part of the Legacy is more slender it's still a toss up, and I don't think I could pick between one or the other untill I see how it works out three dimensionally...

but I will say this, Torpedoe launchers are cool but where did the blasted turret go? that thin was awsome, and was a nice focal point... it just seems like the next Enterprise should have a torpedo turret, they rotate for easier lock-ons (30 degrees helps lol) and it could fire 4 torps/sec, allthough I don't think they've ever down that?

but yeah the text one needs a turret, because 4 Quantum torpedoes at once from one luncher is sweet, and it helps make the Sovy so formidable, getting a quick volley on a short pass, one forword salvo being 7 torps, 4 from the turret and three from the other three forward luanchers... it more than doubled the foward firepower when counted just torps...

but one problem with the Perception, and it's not her fault, I keep wanting to call her the Premonition, and I didn't even care for that class...

no no no no lol, I love Vektors Grandeur but the truth of the matter is, in a dog fight, "necked" starships are at a significant disadvantage, and I'm not anti-neck as far as ships go but some over do it, the Galaxy class in my opinion is a whale and to easy to it, times where different though but still, now she's pretty under the right anggles but the others, not so much, the E, is much more sleek, more maneuverable, practical and IMO, more aestethicaly pleasing. we do no need a bunch of bulk...

in all honesty thought, when I saw the Grandeur, I thought to myself, that should be the E and the E should be the F, they needed more transition time... such a big change...

Hey Draco, if this is your ship nice work:techman: If I may I have a sugestion, shorten the nacells just a LITTLE bit, I like the idea that roddenberry had about how technology advanced to a point where the smaller nacells had the same power as the longer nacells.

Sorry, but all these designs look too much like the Sovereign class with just a few differences, and the Legacy class just looks like a Sovereign mixed with an Intrepid. That's not original. The Enterprise-F should look as different from the Enterprise-E as the Enterprise-E looks from the Enterprise-D.

I agree with this. The Sovereign is a great design, such that tweaks start to draw away from it.

I think a ship that's more reminiscent of 23rd century designs would be a nice difference, for a ship in the late 24th century.
