That said, we've got our share of crazies in Italian politics, too. Cue in Lega Nord, combining anti-government rhetoric with secessionist demagogy. Or one of the many fringe Communist parties: we even have have a Marxist-Leninist Communist Party. I used to be handed leaflets by them at my university. Nice folks, but complete loonies.

i'd classify the Tea Party as 'fucking loony idiots', the Republicans as far-right idiots, the Democrats as right-wing.

the current Tories in Britain are somewhere near the Republicans it seems to me. the Liberals are now right-wing because of their unholy alliance and labour's lurching to more left-than-centre-but-still-central. UKIP are 'far-right loony fucking idiots'.

I don't think Ron Paul wants to bomb the children of the developing nations. But I think that's what the medias want you to think...that he's just like other Republicans.

None of the candidates on both sides and the president ever address the debt problems we are experiencing. They all just kindda brush that aside...

Unfettered capitalism got plenty of chances to thrive in the latter half of the 19th century going into the 20th. It was great for the few haves, but downright oppressive and life-threatening for the have-nots in a multitude of ways. Decreased regulation is a large part of the problem that led us into the recession and debt today that you're complaining about, and you want to continue or even increase that lack of regulation?

Please provide a link to any major news-media outlet that is trying to sell the story that Ron Paul is trying to bomb other nations and is just like most other Republican candidates (apart from the rich white male Christian with bigoted tendencies part). His isolationist policies are well known, as is his distance from the Republican mainstream on almost every issue. Is it some requirement that Ron Paul fans have to immediately start whining about the media treating him unfairly for the most nonsense reasons once they arrive online?

The Republican candidates have mentioned the debt and spending cuts often during the campaign, though obviously not with the frequency or severity of cuts Paul has suggested. Did you get that idea from Sarah Palin? She's not a good choice to quote about factual knowledge and stuff, donch ya know?

Obama talks about the debt quite frequently (ignore the ones about personal debt).

How is he an isolationist when he just want to stop the United States from becoming the world police? Maybe you'd like the U.S. to be the world police? Stationing the troops in other countries and starting a war with other nations are really one of the biggest drain of our economy. He never said anything about United States not trading and doing businesses with other countries. That's basically what he wants the U.S. to do...is go about doing trade and businesses and not having to worry about anything else. Wars will make any country economically weak and since in modern day everything is tied to the economy, it also make us militarily weaker.

He wants unregulated trade which is why he wants us to withdraw from NAFTA and the WTO. He wants to eliminate all foreign aid, which is the best diplomatic asset the US has. He wants us to withdraw from the UN and NATO, which means not holding up our global and regional commitments and not participating in peacekeeping and relief operations overseas to help the victims of genocide and civil war (many of which were prompted by the policies of the West and so are partially our responsibility) or natural/man-made disasters. He wants to reintroduce outdated concepts like Letters of Marque and Reprisal to handle piracy and terrorism with privateers and mercenaries (we already have PMCs which are troublesome enough). He wants to withdraw our commitments to allies like South Korea, who has a hostile nuclear power with a massive army and a completely indoctrinated population to the North.

That's what I'm talking about when I call him isolationist, not that he wants to never trade with anyone. Although his policies would be so destructive it may very well end up that way. Thankfully he'll never reach the presidency.

No, I don't want the US to participate in another debacle like Iraq where we wage preemptive war under false pretenses, but I'm perfectly fine with the use of military force to defend ourselves, our allies, and innocents being slaughtered by tyrants or rival factions. You can have nuance without going to the extremes Paul proposes.

I notice you completely ignored all the other issues I raised in order to get into a semantic debate about isolationism. Care to address those, like which news outlet has accused Mr. Paul of wanting to bomb other countries, for instance?
