Peter David used "overmuch" overmuch in one of his NF books. But I don't worry about it overmuch.

I can't figure out if now is the time to mention the Mack-centric dream I had last night (seriously, I'm not making that up). Hey, it cheered me up. Oh wait, are there minors on this forum? At the moment, I'm coping with an ulcer, caffeine withdrawal, an upcoming surgical procedure that requires me to fast, an insurance-paperwork fiasco, juggling three projects, trying to line up next year's paying work, and struggling to meet the deadline for my first original novel.
my only problem with Mack's writing is his use of 'picayune' three times in Harbinger.
i'd never heard it before, but now, for some reason, i fucking hate that word...
but, the book's still made of win.
It was dark.
Too dark.
So dark that even Stygians stood around and said, "Damn, it's dark."
"Respectfully," why should I give a fuck what you think? At the moment, I'm coping with an ulcer, caffeine withdrawal, an upcoming surgical procedure that requires me to fast, an insurance-paperwork fiasco, juggling three projects, trying to line up next year's paying work, and struggling to meet the deadline for my first original novel. And I log on yesterday to find a thread in which I'm being taken to task over individual fucking words in my dozen or so books? I'm sorry, but "respectfully," give me a fucking break.Respectfully, this sounds a bit defensive to me.![]()
You learn something new every day. I'd've thought "of or relating to the river Styx" would be "Styxy".
Belated apologies for my previous "nuclear option" response. Today was the first day that the caffeine-withdrawal symptoms hit me full force, and on top of my angst over having all of my creature comforts taken away following an excruciatingly painful weekend, it was just a perfect storm.Star Treks said:I wish you well with all of your problems and annoyances, even if I am apparently one of them.
And Amy? Feel free to e-mail me the details of that dream any time you feel like brightening my day....Amy Sisson said:I can't figure out if now is the time to mention the Mack-centric dream I had last night (seriously, I'm not making that up). But again: Sorry, Star Treks and Xeris. You guys just happened to find the bullet on this round of "David Mack Russian Roulette."
^ If she's unwilling, we could just make up a bunch of stuff.
^ Hmm. Maybe that's an anthology waiting to happen: Stuff We Wish Amy Sisson Would Dream About.

When it comes to the Mack, it's cannon, not canon, baby!If professional Trek writers make up stuff involving other professional Trek writers is it considered canon?
