I don't get what you mean. I didn't think you were making a personal comment.
Sorry, I guess this part threw me:
Err, no. It's pretty fuckin clear that he was filming it himself. And while my comments are mostly sarcasic and tongue-in-cheek (11 years here, and a Charlie Brooker avatar, and some people still don't get it), the point still stands;
Probably reads a bit harsher than I intended, but I've noticed a disturbing trend recently, where some people seem to be under the mistaken impression that I take life as seriously as they do.

Sure, but in my view it shows a lack of class and responsibility to take something that you know will embarrass another person and put it on the Internet without their permission.
I'd agree, to a certain extent, although it can sometimes be hilarious. Depends on the person involved, and what the "embarrassing" thing is.
The fact that they added special effects to it just made it even less defensible.
It does, however, show a commitment scarcely seen in today's youth. An admirable quality.

I'm not absolving the kids who did this, they deserved the lawsuit they got. Still, the kid left the tape behind which opened up the problems. I'm not sure the fridge analogy completely works. If I leave my car door unlocked with the keys in the ignition I'm partly to blame for my car getting stolen.
