Remastered Tholian Web question

I haven't seen the remastered version of this. I have watched youtube videos comparing the 2 versions- and I can't find one that shows the Tholian on screen talking to Spock.

Can anyone provide me with some pics- assuming they remastered Loskene as well. I wanted to see if they made him look like the Tholian in enterprise.

I'm making an animated Tholian character and am interested in the design.

Yep, no change to how his particular image was displayed on the viewscreen during the conversation with Spock in the Remastered version.

Wow, I find that odd. They ruined most of the other visuals. Why not Loskene lol.

The new FX shots were done to bring the image up to the quality of HD video, not to gratuitously alter or replace things. Those shots which looked okay in HD didn't need to be replaced. Apparently the Loskene shots were among them.

Well I found a review on here http://trekmovie.com/2007/04/02/revew-the-tholian-web-remastered/ And many people think the Tholian ships didn't need updating, and they made the bridge too dark when we see the viewscreen.

FYI: Trekmovie.com has video clips (linked from youtube, I believe) of just the new effects shots for nearly every episode. I just checked, and yep, The Tholian Web is documented there.

Just curious, did you check to see if those youtube links still work? I was out there a couple months back and it seemed like most of them weren't operating any longer. Might've just been my home computer though.

Then you need to check the ENT two-part episode, "In a Mirror, Darkly", which showed us a full-bodied Tholian extrapolated from the helmet/face of Loskene we saw in TOS.

Incidently, Loskene was made with trendy plastic placemats, exactly the same as the placemats William Ware Theiss cut up to make Kryton's Elasian shoulder armor and ankle guards.

Thanks, i've seen In a mirror darkly. That's why i was wondering if the remastered fx were consistent with Enterprise. I've based my character on both versions, whilst adding a little of my own design.

I don't think I can watch CBS.com outside of US

I didn't like the psychedelic look of the gaseous atmosphere inside the starship...very 60s.

i think they def should have remastered Loskene. Especially since we got a better look at a tholian on the Enterprise series.

It looks like an actual living, non-humanoid lifeform...as opposed to a stationary puppet standing in front of a 1960s era dance show background.
