Original still for comparison:

This is excellent news! I knew they weren'g going to give up on this - everyone was saying "never again" after The Invasion (mostly citing cost issues), but this proves that wasn't the case. And to have Big Finish involved is great as well.

Needless to say, if they're going to do this, I can't see any reason why they can't animate the remaining episode of The Tenth Planet or any of the other stories that have been wiped.

Is there a List/resource guide that lists the stories in order, how they're released (Or not), and what's wrong with the ones not released?

This will be very cool, if this can lead to every story being reconstructed. I haven't seen any Troughton or Hartnell (Other than those shown on PBS in the 1980s) and would like to one day see them all, in order.

Only Resource I currently use is IMDB, and it doesn't even give overall story names for the early stories, just the individual episode titles, so, some are hard to relate to hearing Story titles. Maybe I'll check Wikipedia

Brilliant news! I'm so excited that this is happening, that Big Finish is involved, and they're doing The Reign of Terror, which is not only one of my favorite pure historicals, but also one of my favorite First Doctor serials! I CAN NOT wait. :D

nice. hope this leads to more animation for some of the other missing stories.

I knew they just had to do more of these. I was just readign about this ep in About Time #1. Its apparently one of Hartnell's best.

The one thing I'm not looking forward to are the complaints about the quality/style/method of animation from people who don't understand (a) how much animation costs to produce and (b) the modest level of profit the Original Series DVDs actually make.

So will they animate the stories to reflect what was originally filmed, or spruce it up with more impressive set and creature designs? What with the cost of animation, as StCoop pointed out, they might even make it a more fast-paced story? Who knows, this could end up being my entry point for finally "getting" classic Who.

They might get a little creative with some camera angles, but I doubt they'll stray too far from the original material.
