"Reign Of Terror" Missing Episodes To Be Animated!

Is there a List/resource guide that lists the stories in order, how they're released (Or not), and what's wrong with the ones not released?
Wikipedia has a list of all serials (specifying missing episodes) and of the DVD releases.

I hope they animate all missing episodes, if the current animation is too expensive, they should switch to cheaper animation or cheaper animation studios. It really doesn't have to look perfect or even close to the original footage. I appreciate the effort seen in the first post, but not if it prevents other animated episodes from being made.
There's nothing wrong with simplifying the character models, using less details on the costumes etc., the most important thing is to actually get the episodes made, so that they can be watched again.

Hooray! I'm looking forward to this.

Original still for comparison:

I wear a feather hat now, feather hats are cool! Why is there a giant feather in the Doctors hat?

 Now I wish Hartnell had really said that.

He's posturing as a provincial official in that story and apparently they wear this sort of hat. (I'm not sure how historically accurate this is.)

Good news even though based on the audio this is the weakest Hartnell historical though there are some fun bits.

By the way, I, too, would love to see more animated Troughton episodes. So much of his era is lost. However, those stories where no episode survived would really pose a challenge to the animators. This could be a good or bad thing. I'd really like them to tackle those as well.
As for Hartnell stories, The Crusaders seem to be a logical choice with 2 out of 4 episodes missing but personally, I'd love to see The Dalek's Masterplan get the treatment first.

I completely disagree. I think it's one of the best historicals along with The Aztecs, The Crusade, and Marco Polo.

I hoped this would happen! Hurray! Too expensive some know-it-alls proclaimed. But, alas, there is only one trend for this sort of thing, cheaper and cheaper over time!

One of those know-it-alls would be Dan Hall at 2|E who comissioned it. HE stated more than once the Invasion animation cost too much to be considered again at the time, but every week he was looking at other options.

Anyone with an ounce of sense realizes that when it comes to technology, the price drops rapidly! My first DVD player was $700, now you can get them for less than $100. Common sense. Same thing here. You just wait long enough and the price comes down to an affordable level.

Another test:

all that's left is to see how fluid the animation is I guess.

One wonders from these stills we are recieving if the animation is going to be comparable to that of the "Scream of the Shalka" serial.. which was utter crud..

I do however like the animation of the "infinite Quest" as apposed to that of "dreamland"

Unfortunately a lot of us were assuming the same principle in regards to colourisation, but as the company in the US who did Planet Of The Daleks 3 (before a way of recovering some of the original colour turned up) now deal mainly with 3D conversion rather than colorizing, their prices have shot up (800%) not the technology, but the skilled labour.

Sadly the recovery isn't as good as hoped on other Pertwee episodes, some will remain B&W on DVD

.

I really like this idea and hope it can be done for all the missing eps.

You know, years ago my wife and I used to talk about what we'd do with a million dollars (besides eat Kraft dinner, even if didn't have to) and one of hers would be to fund more episodes of Robotech (this was years ago, before Shadow Chronicles). I hear about things like this and I wonder, is there no Doctor Who fan out there with a ton of money burning a hole in his pocket that could fund things like this?

Yeah. I don't expect anything remotely on par with top tv animators like studio bones or madhouse, but as long as it's not painful to watch it in motion I'll be happy.

Looking forward to this. I'd say if this sells, Tenth Planet would be a lock. Also, The Moonbase would be nice to see, as there are so few Troughton releases.

Though, I'd actually be pretty happy with really high quality officially released telesnap recons (especially of the mostly or completely missing stories), for say $10 each.

The problem with the Moonbase (and with any story where some though no more than half of episodes survive) is that the existing episodes were already released on the Out Of Time boxset.

If there is a cost issue with the animation I can't see them being in a hurry to release those stories on their own when people already have the exisiting episodes.

I wonder why they just don't contract those outside of the UK. With the GBP being so much higher then other world currencies, they could certainly barter a great deal with the likes of some of the more prominent japanese animation companies and do some really great animation work..?

Lord knows Japan needs the work after the tsunami and nuclear disasters..
